Conservation Commission <br /> February 23 , 1989 <br /> Page <br /> work on the flume at Johns Pond . Repairs were listed . <br /> VOTE : Motion rade and seconded to give Ernie Virgilio permission <br /> to go ahead with the necessary repairs . <br /> letter from the Mashpee Woodlands Committee concerning hunting in <br /> the woodlands was read . The Committee vias asked to thiirk about this <br /> for recommendations . <br /> Mr , Rosenberg suggested the Woodlands Committee initiate specific <br /> proposals for the Commission to consider and perhaps take to the <br /> Selectmen . <br /> Ms B hrman suggested the Woodlands Committee get recommendations <br /> from the State and a public hearing be held . <br /> 8 : 30 New Seabury Corp . ( Hayes Engineering ) For a Determination of <br /> Applicability as to the resource area boundaries in Bufflehead Bay , <br /> Located southerly of Red Brook Road westerly of Great oak Road <br /> easterly of dehu Pond . <br /> Debra McCartney of Hayes Engineering presenting . The wetland resource <br /> areas have been upped on the property . o work i being proposed on <br /> thep ro erty now because f the lame tract land and they would <br /> like to come to an agreement on the boundaries of the resource areas <br /> with the Commission , <br /> They have differentiated between salt marsh vegetation and bordering <br /> vegetated wetland along the salt marsh . Bordering land subject to <br /> flooding according to FIMA also noted . <br /> There are pockets ets of wetland indicated i n yell o t bogs and wetland <br /> systems that lacked outlet or stream. The edge of wetland vegetation <br /> is flagged . Be ause they lacked an outlet , they have taken the <br /> position they are isolated l and subject to flooding . They have done <br /> hydraulic engineering calculations to determine the water sheds . <br /> The cedar swamp area has an area adjacent to it with no stream <br /> apparent flowing out of it but they did d map the edge of the wetland <br /> vegetation . This area. was included in the loo flood elevation on <br /> the F I i maps . She d i,d not f Ind any stream in there it would border <br /> on . <br /> Mr . Rosenberg asked the location of the cranberry bog and it was <br /> located on the map . <br /> Ms McCartney stated the delineation here is bounded by the old <br /> trails that are on either side . <br /> The entire site delineated in red does not belong to the applicant <br /> but they wanted to clarify the entire study site . <br />
