a
Conservation Commission
June , 9 , 1989 }
Page 7.
Mrs. Simmons stated her personal opinion is the pool in this plan is
acceptable. Mr. Burns stated he has no problem with it.
CHARLES ll EMBEI -- ORDER OF CONDITIONS: Nancy a)<i m was present
while the revised plan was reviewed. Mr. Coffey read from the minutes
Mr. Rosenberg stated the Commission cannot leaitimize something that
was put on someone else' s land by Mr. Nirenberg.
Ms Behrman was disturbed this was after the fact and saw no reason to
permit the electrical work or flood lights. She moved that the Board
require that all the utilities be removed and a vegetation plan
showing dense native vegetation from the limit of :the fieldstone wall
to the edge of the bank be submitted.
There was general disagreement with the catch basin.
Mrs, Marsters recalled one of the problems with the pool was that it
was inthe reserve area, he was asked to move i t . If there was a
catch basin, it wasn# t in this locionf }
Ms Behrman stated nothing was said about a catch basin in the previous
hearing. Ms DeKimpe stated she knows there were copies of plans with
the basin and Ms Behrman stated they were never submitted to the
Board,. -
Mr.
ar . _Mr. Coffey asked what other mitigating me asures could be proposed
other than the catch basin with the drain to the beach.
Ms DeKimpe stated it is necessary for the catch basin to be there
because of the erosion problem witnessed when the revetment was built.
Mrs. Marsters asked if it could be drained in the other direction,
inland.
Ms DeKimpe stated it might be more trouble to change it,
Ms Behrman stated if there had been proper revegetation at the time
and there wasn' t the use of heavy equipment that caused the erosion,
there wouldn' t be a problem. r
Mr. Rosenberg stated another problem is the existing garage being on
New Seabury property. Ms DeKimpe stated she had nothing to do with
the garage.
Ms Behrman moved that the Board issue an enforcement order concerning
the garage.
Mrs. Marsters stated it is not the commissionts place to enforce that,
it is New eabury' s ,job. She also suggested the pipe be cut off with
something in the catch basin so it won' t take any more water.
Ms DeKimpe stated if they get the plants in and vegetate it, the
volume of water soing through tie pipe will be reduced.
The consensus of the commission is that the pipe in the revetment is
not wanted * Mrs. Marsters stated first put in the vegetation, that
will take up some of it and then redesign it to take up the nest o
the water.
