04 <br /> Conservation Commission <br /> September 21 1989 <br /> Page 6. <br /> Ms Behran asked if oil absorbing pads were planned in the catch basins and <br /> was told they were not, but Mr. McGrath agreed to add them. She requested <br /> maintenance schedule. <br /> Mr. McGrath rath requested the hearing be continued to November 2 � 8:00 p.m. <br /> Ms Behr an agreed to arrange to have this on the Planning Board Agenda as <br /> a non-hearing item. <br /> It was noted Highwood Water has put the water mains in already. <br /> CONTINUED TO NOVEMBER 2, 1989 - 8:00, AT THE REQUEST of THE APPLICANT. <br /> 9:00 Robert Leery for the removal 1 o two small sheds and the construction of a <br /> 141 X 22' garage at 120 Summersea Road, Jeff Gainsborg presenting. The filing <br /> is for a garage with no interference with anything; digging is minimal. The <br /> outdoor shower will be removed; shrubs will be planted. An existing fence was <br /> replaced in the existing holes. <br /> Ms Beh rman expressed concern with the walk to the dock. Mr. Ga i nsborg advised <br /> tans are in the works for this. <br /> Jr. Sherman pointed out when the steps are to be done, it will be necessary to g <br /> through the Commission. <br /> HEAR1N CLOSED - ORDER of CONDITIONS IN 21 DAYS. <br /> It was noted Mr. Gainsborg did not send abutter notices out by certified mail <br /> but hand delivered thea. Mr. Rosenberg stated it would be satisfactory if he <br /> provided the commission with a notarized statement that the notices were hand <br /> delivered, with the nares of the people and the date. <br /> 9:15 Stanley Wachtenheim to prune beach plum shrubs and remove two small pine <br /> trees at 78 Popponesset Island Road. Chris Biel of I .E.P. presented abutter <br /> receipts. An RDA was positive and a Notice of Intent requested. concern was <br /> expressed for the stability of the bank after removal of the pine trees by the <br /> steps. He contacted the Mass Cooperative Extension Agency and Soil Conservation <br /> Service for recommendations. They recommend the planting of Rosa. Rugosa or Beach <br /> plum; three plants around each stump. <br /> Question was also raised about the pruning of the existing beach plum. They are <br /> asking for a one-time cut to be made to allow for further evaluation before any <br /> additional permitting would be sought in the future. They promise to replant any <br /> of the beach plum adversely effected by the pruning. <br /> Nor. Rosenberg asked if they weren't destroying the Beach Plum by pruning to 21 . <br /> and was told the Extension Service states the plants tent to be low and send <br /> roots out laterally. <br /> Al Hollander, an abutter,, spoke in favor of the proposed work. <br /> CLOSED - ORDER OF CON I'TIo S IN 21 DAYS. <br />
