see the Committee adopt the grid as a high-level status summary of where the Committee was at.He also
said that it was a kind of format to pass on the information to the Selectmen, regarding what's happening
and pending its the Committee.
Ms. Gurney said that she would be willing to support the grid if individuals would put something
forth and take the action, given in the language of what they like to use. She asked the members of the
Committee to send her additional items through e-mail, said that she would fix it up change it a little hit,
with a column for action iterns, and a column from who}}rade the recommendation, if there was one, and if
not,who took the action_
Mr.Miller said, if nothing else, the grid would be a good thing to have on the future web site.
He said that he was caught off`guard about the article in a local newspaper regarding the DP , said he had
earlier had lost sight of the commitment that was made. Since the absence of moving forward of the DCPC
was one of the reasons, if not the primary reason the Blue Ribbon Committee existed. Ile added that he
should take the timetable regarding the DCPC into account. Now,he said, the Committee has found itself
potentially in the situation of the Planning Board taking whatever-action seems appropriate on March I",
without the benefit of the Committee, which was created because of that scenario.
huckie Green said that when the DCPC was first proposed it was on a parallel level as the
Planning Board. He said that the Board decided to take action and move forward in the discussion. He said
The Blue Ribbon Committee and the Planning Board coutd go forward M the DCPC progress in parallel.
ella Blizenberry said that it was a duplication effort and said that much of the DCPC was in the
Committee,in her opinion.
The Chairman said that he agreed with Mr. Greer}concerning parallel paths with the DCPC,,also
one of the things the Committee focused on as part of the DCPC proposal. He said that the Committee
world continue to address those items in both the Board and the Committee.
Ms.Kane was surprised that the Committee was spending so much time comparing the two. She
said that the Committee had to go through the motions of what was going to be. She said the Committee
was not going to ignore the similarities between the two, but to address therm. M8, Dane, the Chairman of
the Planning Board, said that she was not going to discuss what she was going to be saying on her Board, at
her meeting on March I't,and let her Board members, at that date,to participate in the discussion. She said
that the Committee had been sending report to the Planning Board, when they met to what is going on in
the Committee's meetings*whatever the Board members feel about progress or lack of progress, whatever,
she thought that's going;to be feedback for the Committee and to members of'the Planning Board who were
also part of the Committee. She said that the Board had been committed six months ago,
The Chairman recalled the commitment of the Planning Board was valid and if the Board decided
not to pursue forward at this point, the Committee should be reevaluated.
ilrfr. Storrs said that the Planning Board would continue to give opportunity to continued respect of
the Board of Selectmen.
Ms. Gurney said that as a member of the Planning Board, she realized that when they were putting
forward the DCPA;,there was still an enormous lack of information on hour the process worked and was
one of the reasons she voted to delay the ISP . She also said that what this Committee seemed to be doing
and she did not find it conflicting, at all. She said that what the Committee was doing was more or less
what they were doing during the moratorium. The significant difference that was poorly understood by the
public was that the grand fathering issue was one of the biggest benefits of the DCPC. She said that
somehow you had to have all the Committee's actions done before the Board put the DCPC forward, which
was not the case. That was what the 12-month}moratorium period was for like the Committee was doing
now, That it wasnxt a bad thing, she said. She said that she thought the Planning Board had done the right
thing to say, "we need to see progress."'Because as the members of the Committee were concerned, it
would be another-committee that would have faded off into the twilight, and that the Board did not want
that to happen that the Town was too important to too many people,to allow it to happen. As long as there
is progress made, she thought that the outcome was likely to be very favorable.
Mr, Green said that the views of the committee were not moving forward, with the action items.
He said that he got the feeling that.the Committee was ready to say was that we've done all the important
things,we've talked about what maybe we can do,lets pinpoint the items that we want to take some needed
action or let's}neve the agenda.
Ms. Gumey said that erre thing she wanted to abandon was the separate vision statement,we have
a perfectly good one,the Comprehensive Plan and that she didn"t want the Committee to spend erre, or two
