She added that all the landscape people were getting out their crews and the Board should get out there in time to promote the project to them. New Business Zella Blizenberry said that the document she handed out to Board members was a summary of the accomplishments of the Affordable Housing Committee. She said that the Affordable Housing Committee effort has been rnostly proactive committee in implementing plans outlined in the Comprehensive flan. She said that the Affordable Housing Committee effort has been mostly proactive, She said, in her opinion, it had not a comprehensive conlraittee until the last two years. Within that time,with help from the assistant Town planner, at that time, a lot had been accomplished. Ms. Blizenber ty spoke, referring to the document she had compiled. According to her, since 1998,the Committee had accomplished a number of items, She read from the bulleted items on the accomplishments document, One of the first items was sponsoring an Affordable Housing Conference in November, 200 2; seeking and receiving a grant fi.-ons the Cape Cod Conunission for 13,000.00 in 2003. In November 2004,the members of the Committee had hired a consultant to prepare the Mashpee Affordable Housing plan document, which was completed and published in Haat year. The Plan then went to the State House and was certified,, said Ms.Eli enberry. The Zoning Board of Appeals were also impressed with it, she said and it gave the Committee members clout. It was a big accomplishment, she added. She their stated that in August 2004,the Conunittee used the grant to hire a professional surveyor. The Conu n.ittee needed to know what bind of houses to build, so the survey agency conducted and published a Mashpee Affordable Mousing Study.
