Town of Mashpee <br /> Blue Ribbon Comprehensive Committee <br /> Minute§of Meeftg <br /> May 1 8, ooh <br /> The Town of Mashpee Blue Ribbon Cottee was called to order in Mashpee Town <br /> Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee,Massachusetts at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 18, <br /> 2006.The Charman, lorxIIyers,presided. <br /> Blue Ribbon Committee Members present: Zella Blizenberry}Chuckie Green,Vice <br /> Chair; Lee Gurney;Beverly Dane;John Mier;Don Myers, Chairman}Douglas Storrs, Clerk and <br /> Ted Theis. <br /> Also present: F. Thomas Fudala, Town Planner and Ed Barer, a Mashpee citizen. <br /> Absent at this meeting was Glenn Santos. <br /> A quorum being present,the Chainnan called the meeting to order. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Minutes were approved for the meeting held on April 6, 2006. Minutes for the April 27, <br /> 2006 meeting were withheld,until the June 1, 2006 meeting,pending approval. <br /> Communications <br /> Public Comments <br /> There were no communications or public comments at this time. <br /> Old Business <br /> Reports from each Board/Commission regarding DCPA objectives <br /> Beverly Dane, Chair of the Plying Board, said there would be a presentation by Toni <br /> Fudala,Town Planner and she deferred spearing, due to illness. <br /> Ted Thais said he had spoken to Ed Barer, a Mashpee citizen and president of the <br /> Mashp e e Environmental C o alition and had found an opportunity to distribute a basic M ashp ee <br /> brochure, where people could be given copies at the Town picnic, <br /> Mr. Baker said the brochure was available on the Web at www,mashveemeo.us and to <br /> click on the Table of Contents to view it and other brochures. <br /> Mr, Theis said that he had a list of neighborhood associations, and said it was prem <br /> sparse considefing the number of neighborhoods that Mashpee had, and that he would have to <br /> find other individuals to survey, so that the distribution would be broader. <br /> John Miller spoke and said that his street was in the process of forming a neighborhood <br /> association and that he would give it to Mi.. Thais. <br /> Lee Gurney questioned that maybe the associations could get their names M the <br /> newspaper,*spaperâ–  e. 4 "The he Enterpfise." 9 <br /> Don Myers, the Chairman, said that those neighborhoods interested in being listed could <br /> contact Mr. Theis or view a page on the Town of Mashpee website4 The Chainnan also said that <br /> there would be a mailbox created for the Blue Ribbon Committee. <br /> Mr. Theis said he had brought in two monthly publications and showed them to <br /> Committee members, one of them called waste News and the other water world,he added that it <br /> was a big subject to get your hands around. <br /> .della Blizenber y spoke and said that the Zoning Board was reviewing Mashpee <br /> Commons but Douglas Storrs corrected her, calling it a separate entity and named Realty Trust. <br /> Ms, Elizenber y went to the .P.A. to get funds for study to get affordable units in Mashpee. It is <br /> labeled as the Vocal Initiative Project and had to go before the Affordable Housing Committee <br /> first. if approved, it would contain 24 rental units and 18 moderate h.ous g units.
