He said"These rules and regulations are meant to keep honest people, honest,,i{And <br /> when they get a certain frustration, they afjust gong to ignore-the regulations and the rules." <br /> Somehow, we have to figure out how to streamline these things, fir. Maintanis said, <br /> lr. Maintanis said that there were so many regulations and that there were so many <br /> personalities that it was a very difficult process fb get through. She said that the BRCC pnma. ly worked on water-issues <br /> and that it was the biggest issue, and that there were a lot of other issues the BRCC had <br /> uncovered.while looking into that area. She suggested that each department point out things that <br /> were not working and what could be unproved, and those that ought to be dropped. ..._- <br /> The Vice Chair said to Mr. Maintanis that, as an enforcement agent,how did he thin the <br /> BRC could stral'ghten out these issues. <br /> 'Ideally, instead of reacting, we could be proactive," said W Maintanis. <br /> Ms. Blizenberry said that she had seven questions and that many of the articles could be <br /> discontinued. She asked W Maintanis if he was tafking about zoning or state issues. lir. <br /> Maintanis replied that the Building Department did not have control over state issues. He spoke <br /> about undeveloped and larger lot areas--people asking why they couldn't build a shed in their. <br /> backyard,that it was not a.life safety issue <br /> Regarding unregisi6red vehicles on the property,Mr, Maim s said that there was a fine <br /> issued and was twned over to the police depmtrnent. <br /> Ms.Zellinberry said that to `Let cohnhnittees get together,IYI The Zoning Board and ' ; <br /> Planning Board,''she said. She added that she wanted to`Get rid of redundancy and useless <br /> areas. And she said that the Boards were not applying the same rules to every citizen in a fair, <br /> consistent way, citing James Circle, which, she said, had lots deemed buildable,yet have to come <br /> to the honing Board <br /> Ms. Kane asked rhetorically what could be helpful} and said that specific things happen to <br /> real people on a real fime basis and the communication between the Building Department and.the <br /> Platting Board slid not exist, <br /> Ms. Gurney said that people tweak their views and that if they like the idea., choose to be <br /> proactive. <br />
