r <br /> PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING OF OCTOBER 109 1984 <br /> The following members of the Public Works Building Committee were present for <br /> the meeting held at the Mashpee Town Hall9. Samuel C. Re, Chairman, John Wyllie, <br /> Chester Sheets,, Anthony Fi o rent i n i and Ernie Virgilio. <br /> Also present were Town Counsel , Joseph Reardon, Selectmen Willard Hanson and <br /> B. Jean Thomas, Leo Sweeney and Ellis Laycock. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 3:05 p.m.6 <br /> John Wyllie informed the committee the contract with the Clerk of the Works had <br /> been signed. <br /> VOTE: Moved and seconded to pay Clerk of the Works Leo G. Sweeney $2800.00 <br /> for services rendered from 8/15/84 through 9/30/84 280 hours total . <br /> Unanimous vote. <br /> VOTE: Moved and seconded to approve Invoice 02528 to Atlantic Design & Con- <br /> struction, inc. in the amount of $445.00. . Unanimous Vote, <br /> VOTE: Moved and seconded to accept the minutes of September 17 and September 26 <br /> as written. Unanimous Vote. <br /> Copies of a letter from Ellis Laycock to Aaron Cohen regarding masonry problems, <br /> missing control joints, rubbish at job-site, etc. , was distributed. <br /> A telephone call from Chester Brown informing the committee the gas company was <br /> waiting for a payment from the contractor was received. The gas company was to <br /> get in touch with Newton Stephen. <br /> y <br /> Selectmen Hanson recommended calling Steve Horgan at the gas company regarding <br /> procedures to install gas lines, <br /> Ernie Virgilio announced the town has been awarded a grant for the salt shed. <br /> Mas hpee was selected of the sixty towns that applied. <br /> Chairman Re recapped the past few weeks. Through September 28, 17 working days, <br /> there was an average of three masons and two tenders on the ,job, However, since <br /> October S there have been 13 men on the job. In the one week they have finished <br /> the east wall and completed the center wall . They are now working on the west <br /> wall to finish the one wing for a pocket for a girder to go across to the east <br /> wall . Nothing is being done on other parts of the job due to the site contractor. <br /> The dirt must be moved to enable the fence contractor to come in and clear for the <br /> salt shed, dig a trench for the well , excavate and install septic sys tend Ellis <br /> has instructed the contractor to go ahead with the berry. Aaron Cohen was asked <br /> to attend today's meeting, but is in Atlanta. <br /> It was agreed the productivity and competence of the electrician and plumber i s <br /> satisfactory. <br />
