TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING OF OCTOBER 15, 1984 <br /> The following members of the Public Works Building committee were present for <br /> the meeting held at Mas hpee Town Hall : Samuel C. Re, Chairman, Jahn Wyllie, <br /> Chester Brown and Anthony Fiorentini . <br /> El 1 i s Laycock, of Atlantic Design and Construction, was also present t <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> Mr* Re read a proposed letter to Aaron Cohen in answer to his letter of Sept- <br /> ember 25 and a proposed letter to Ellis Laycock concerning the same matters. <br /> John Wyllie stated there- should be change orders for reducing the contract, <br /> i e burying the brush, as well as those increasing the contract, <br /> Architect's Report to the Committee: <br /> Ellis showed the committee a sample of eastern spruce which was supposed to <br /> be the equivalent of the southern ,yellow pine specified and had been submitted <br /> to him for the purpose of substitution. It was agreed that it was unacceptable <br /> for substitution. <br /> He also showed samples of roofing shingles and recommended the shade of Chest- <br /> nut Blend (tan). The committee was i n .agreement. <br /> The committee was informed the bar ,joists were two feet too short and the error <br /> was by CanAm. Correct bar joists are on the ,job now. Due to the error, the <br /> requisition submitted on Wednesday was cut back. <br /> The original requisition included five change. orders which Triple A was ad- <br /> vised <br /> d- <br /> vised had not all been approved. Two are approved. Leo Sweeney had felt <br /> there should be a cut back on the rough grading and an allowance of $2,000. <br /> Items Cut: Masonry - asking for $28,000, cut to $ 23,480. <br /> Structural Steel , For Work in Place 51,000. <br /> As of 10/12-stored material 51,000, <br /> Steel Joists - Erected 41000+ <br /> On Site 45000. <br /> Metal Deck, on top of bar ,joists 3 X000. <br /> Material stored in a lumber warehouse 7,000. <br /> Control joists are not part of this requisition, are in the process of being <br /> corrected. 5 is held all along the line for items such as the control joi-sts. <br /> In summary, the contractor put in for $81 3299.17. Including two change orders, <br /> was cut hack to $64,352,15. <br />
