r <br /> MASHPEE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> t <br /> MEETING of DECEMBER 5, 1984 <br /> The following members of the Public barks 80 l d i ng Committee were present for <br /> the meeting held at Mashpee Town Hall : Samuel C. Re, John Wyllie, Chester <br /> Drown and Anthony Fi orenti n i . Ernest Virgilio arrived later from another <br /> meetingor <br /> , <br /> Also present were Ellis Laycock and Jack Cartier. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m <br /> Ellis stated he had Just left the jobsite where they were pouring the concrete <br /> apron and setting blocks. He stated they will be working well into the morning <br /> as it will be slow setting at these temperatures and has to be trowelled at the <br /> y ii <br /> right time. If the weather s as bad as s forecast, they will put canvas or <br /> polyethylene over the windows and there would be no danger of the concrete <br /> freezing. <br /> Mr. Re asked if a severe temperature drop would matter. <br /> Ellis stated when they aro finished, they will cover it over. # <br /> A letter to Triple A from Ellis Laycock, dated November 30, was reviewed by the <br /> committee. Copies had been given to the Selectmen. Referring to his letter of <br /> November 19, Ellis advised the project was still understaffed regarding car entr <br /> R y <br /> and site work and the town is invoking the five day notice with respect to the <br /> sub-contractor working on the site work, well pit, septic system and gas trap, <br /> as well as site grading. This work to require at least one bulldozer and one <br /> backhoe with proper operators and at least one laborer during regular working <br /> hours, complete with such trucks and tools as may be needed to complete this <br /> work within 5 working days, or by December 7, 1984. <br /> A copy of a second letter from Ellis to Ernie Virgilio dated November 30 was <br /> read advising that Masaschi Corp. work would be completed at the end of day, <br /> f December 6, 1984, and;paving could begin on December 7, 1984. Triple A will <br /> cooperate to allow this tohappen. It further stated Atlantic Design had been <br /> advised b Mr. Cohen, President of Triple A that <br /> p � any charges involved to com- <br /> plete <br /> orpplete the site preparation work will be borne by Triple A. Mr. Masaschi will <br /> have been informed both by telephone and telegram by Mr. Cohen of this situation. <br /> Mr. Re stated Ernie vi rg i l io wants to be sure he has the permission of the town <br /> to take time away from his other duties to direct the work. He stated, if nec- <br /> essary, <br /> ec- <br /> essary, he i s ready to have people with five pieces of equipment come in on <br /> j <br /> Friday and Saturday to spread any hardener and level off to set grades, after~ <br /> which he will bring in the fine grader wh'ch is not part of the contract. He <br /> will hire someone to finish the rough grading. <br /> Mr. Re also stated charges should be billed to the same code of accounts as <br /> are ,presently being used. Charges to be well documented and invoiced. <br /> The scope of the work is to finish everything that Masaschi did not do. <br />
