PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING CE APRIL 23� 1985 <br /> The following members of the Public Works Building Committee were present <br /> for the meeting held at the Mas tepee Public Works Facility, Samuel C. Re, <br /> Chester Brown, John Wyllie and Anthony Norenti ni . Ellis Laycock of <br /> Atlantic Design and Construction, Inc. was present also. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p,m, <br /> A copy of a letter from Triple A to Arthur Joia of E,C.M.S. was read. Ellis <br /> advised the painter is going to finish under Triple A and will need one week. <br /> They would like to start earlier and finish later than the Public Works hours <br /> and also work Saturday. Aaron Cohen agreed to sign any waivers required. A <br /> supervisor has been assigned to the site. Mr. Cohen would like to work a six <br /> day week from 74.00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to finish the job. <br /> The well man, Bishop, will be on the job next week to put in the permanent <br /> pump and finish the ;job. <br /> Ernest Virgilio stated Highway Department hours are 7:00 a.m, to 3:30 p.gni <br /> and a highway department employee would have to be on duty overtire at a <br /> cost of $55.64 for a four hour minimum. Saturday would be double time,. Ellis <br /> stated Aaron Cohen might be willing to do this in order to finish the job in <br /> six or seven days. <br /> Mr. Virgillo further~ stated Aaron Cohen should be notified the town telephone. <br /> lines cannot be tied up with calls and they will not be accepted for the con- <br /> tractor or sub-contractors. He further stated he wished to go on record con- <br /> cerning <br /> on- <br /> cer}ning Mr. Cohen's arrival at the facility this morning to put him on notice <br /> that the $2200. gas bill belongs to the town of Mashpee, not Triple A. He <br /> returned in the afternoon with a request to talk and was told to leave. and <br /> talk to the committee. Mr. Vi rg i 1 i o stated he would not talk to Mr. Cohen <br /> unless the committee, town counsel and the architect are present, <br /> Mr. Re pointed out the committee was advised by Ellis Laycock several times <br /> when the question of heat was raised that the bill was Triple A's. <br /> The committee was advised Scannell will be available to talk to the committee <br /> and has a report on the water quality at various levels. The level at which <br /> the sodium was reduced was too shallow to guarantee the quantity required. <br /> Mr. Virgilio agreed to arrange for Scannell to be at the next meeting. <br /> Chester Brown reported he had contacted the Culligan Co. with regard to an <br /> Ion exchange system where metals are removed but would not correct the sodium <br /> problem. A proposal should be in hand by next meeting. Cost i s estimated at <br /> $1700. installed. A separate proposal will be furnished for equipment to deal <br /> with the sodium. <br />
