r <br /> v <br /> AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON PLUMES IMP ACTING MAS HP EE <br /> MINUTES AUGUST 61 1998 <br /> Greg Taylor , Chairman, called the meeting to order at 8 : 40 a+rn, <br /> in conference Room 2 , Mashpee Town Hall. <br /> Present: Greg Taylor, Nancy caf f yn, Bob Sherman, Elias McQuade, <br /> Dave Rich. <br /> Absent: Bob Whritenour , Elliot Rosenberg, Bob cram. <br /> The Minutes of June 4 , 1998 and May 7f 1998 were approved, <br /> PLUMES UP-DATE: <br /> CS-10 : Greg T. attended an MMR meeting last night, and they <br /> are looking at the sandwich Road portion which affects us . <br /> They are looking into horizontal and vertical reinjection wells <br /> and the Vadosc zone trench for reinjecting treated water. The <br /> design will he completed in September with work to begin in <br /> the fall.. <br /> It looks like they -flan to extract 1. 4 million gal. per day <br /> using 6-8 extraction wells @ 125 gal ,. per in.inute per well with <br /> a separation of 200 ft* from the extraction to the main, <br /> SD-5: AFCEE is looking to install. six ( 6 ) monitoring wells <br /> in Briarwood to gain information to develop the design and <br /> complete the construction of recirculating ells .in March of <br /> 1999. <br /> Nancy C. went to a meeting where they pushed natural attenuation, <br /> Dave R. stated the Water District does not know enough to take <br /> a position noir <br /> FS-1: Greg T, had no new information, Nancy C. stated there <br /> is a meeting tonight on L `-1. <br /> JBT: Elias M. stated that Cynthia Barron ( DEP) wants to form <br /> an ad hoc committee for the clean up involving sandwich <br /> and Mush; ee Con cora and Health agents and private citizens. <br /> Elias M. stated that his testing for VOC' s on Pickeral Pond <br /> near JBT came out clean. <br /> LF-4: Greg T, reported from last night' s meeting they are <br /> pleased with the clean up , and they found approximately 1 gal . <br /> of polluted material. <br /> Elias M. stated that the slope is stabilized, a.nd he wants to <br /> get Gus Frederick from Leisure Services out there to think about <br /> what they are going to use it for. <br />
