1 <br /> Conservation Commi8sion <br /> February 17, 1994 <br /> Page 2. <br /> i <br /> Mr. Cray advised. the Harbormaster and Shellfish Warden looked at this together <br /> and it did not seem to be a. problem; it would not be moved out to the channel. <br /> Mrs. Ferriday stated if it is nota problem for the applicant, it should go out. <br /> A memo from Rick York, shellfish warden, was read into the record.. <br /> Mr. Cray stated, if doing retro-fitting, the plywood decking should be changed <br /> with suitable spacing. <br /> Nor. Homeer added the floatation should be encapsulated styrofoam. He asked if <br /> there is a revetment or seawall'? <br /> Mr. Gray stated no, there is a .stone apron; stones laid in the ground. He asked <br /> for a continuance to the next available slot. <br /> CONTRiM TO BCH 24, 1994 - 7:10 p.m. <br /> 7-:20 GERALD & RITA SEGEL for the construction of a deck partially in' the buffer <br /> zone; landscaping between deck and top of coastal bank; gazebo and associated <br /> utilities; paths, plantings, pruning and removal and replacement of selective <br /> plants, at 132 Shore Drive west, Seaside. Michael Crot ke presenting. The <br /> residence has been constructed; this plan addresses landscaping. There will be <br /> a co{ ,on path along the coastal bank for all the cottages. They would like to <br /> plant a .buffer of Rosa Rugosa along the bank with beach grass planted among it; <br /> it will be solid vegetated buffer* <br /> Mr. Sherman had no objections to the proposal. <br /> Mrs. Ferriday asked if the paths are bordered with any ties? Mr, Grotzke stated <br /> they would prefer some kind of natural. edging. <br /> Mr. Sherman stated most of the area within the fifty foot buffer is very low and <br /> asked if they would object to a few bayberries' That is a good wildlife habitat <br /> plant. Maintenance could be conditioned at a height of three feet. <br /> Mrs. Ferriday asked if the gazebo was staked? Mr. Sherman stated he has not been <br /> out there. <br /> Mr. Crotke advised the existing concrete foundation will be removed and there <br /> will be a pile footing.
