The salt marsh is shown in green on the plan. There is a small tongue of spartina. Fixed pier will cross about 28 feet of salt marsh; six pilings will be driven for a total. alteration of 4.68 s.f. Therewill be inch deck spacing. The resource ara .engendering the most concern has been land under the ocean and land containing shellfish. No eel grass beds were noted in the area. There is a .steep drop in bottom topography giving decent water depths at the float. The float will be 2 feet above the Mean Low Water mark to assure harvesting access. Total alteration in land containing shellfish will be 3.12 s.'f,, The Hendlers have a 17 foot Whaler; draft and bean measurements are included, inch draft with the prop lower. There will be 2.2 feet of water at dead low. No portion of the boat or float will be on the bottom. All segments of the pier will be built out from .the prior section and will be elevated 5 feet. The ramp and float will be stored away from the property in the off season. Mr. Homeyer asked where they planned to take the float to; are they going to take it to New Seabury Marina? Mr. DiGregorio stated that is yet to be determined. Mr. Homeyer stated that is -a shallow pitch, he would not want to see there dragging it across the salt marsh to store it in the front yard. Mr. DiGregorio stated winter storage will be off site. Mrs. Ferriday stated that will be conditioned, Mr. Johansen asked if this was in a restricted area? Mr. DiGregorio stated it does not appear to be; the restricted portion is on the west side of the island. Mr. Homeyer asked if that tip of Popponesset is in the -Zone? it is A-13. Concerning the arms to hold the float, Mr. DiGregorio stated it .is like a cradle situation. Floatation will be encapsulated. E Rick York stated therekar s ftshell lams ;in this location. Dr. Gordon took F offense at thea providing a revised plan at the meeting when he had studied the prior plan that day and was unable to comment on the revised plan. Mr. DiGregorio stated he would have ample time to make comments at thegBoard of Appeals hearing in March. He will be forwarding plans to the Waterways Commission in the next few days. They anticipated his questions and got some additional depth soundings right around the float area.
