Cranberry subcommittee: A member is needed to serve on this committee that oversees management of the bogs. The Chairman asked Mr. Lopez to serve and he agreed. VOTE: Motion made and seconded the Robert Lopez serve on the Cranberry S bcon nittee. Keelan: The Chairman stated he was uncomfortable with people clearing and cutting trees and' only giving them a slap on the hand with a fine., He sugg- ested, when someone does this, stipulate they rust contact ten people in wetland areas and give them a written update of the resons and results of what they had done. The Agent did not believe this would be legal; he will check with Susana Lannik. Refuge Update: "There have been long discussions with Fish & Wildlife; this would be the first of its kind. ver'yone is optimistic. Sincero: They are requesting to remove and replace in kind an existing deck on Waterway which is 60 feet from the water without filing. Mr. Homeyer stated this would be setting a bad precedent. VOTE: Motion made and seconded to require that a Request for -Determination be filed for the Sincero deck. .Joon: Negative DeterMination issued to Mr. Johnson did not include the maintenance in perpetuity requested. Administratively issued. Elizabeth Island toad: Request received for permission to remove a patch of vegetation which is within 10feet of the Pond and is in the flood plain. The Agent advised the vegetation consists of blueberry bushes and is habitat • for a great many birds. He told. them they c uld file but it probably would not pass; they must leave 1 of the property untouched. Southport: lion Bonvie called and is trying to do something through his lawyer. The Commission cannot ask him to remove sediment and revegetate. Cardillo: Work is being done. on the three walls, some of the deadmen go in feet, some 8 feet. He has agreed to put in extra revegetation. The Certificate .of Compliance will have a condition that there will be no work done without con- sultation with the Commission. Jermyn: The .Agent appeared in court and Mr. .Jermyn was adamant that he should be punished. It was the Agent's feeling that the Clerk Magistrate would like to dismiss the ease. A decision will be issued in ten days. Tanau: Mr. Nwanagu is the innocent victim of Mr. Oakley. He i trying to get hien to use equipment to remove it. If not dome in a week, he will do it at his own expense and sue Mr. Oakley. He has been given to .June 1. Robinson: All letters from the Commission have been ignored.
