1
out to the bay, soundings show deeper to the left and
shallower to the right. The work was done by themselves in
1992 and the dock built 2-1/2 years later. There appears to
be a significant change in depth of soundings at the end of
the dock. There perhaps have been natural occurrences that
ha8 made the change. Also, the contractor has been working
in the water. At the request of the Agent, they did qo out
and they did a new set of soundings the same as before. The
soundings shown are conservative. There is a bit of a
difference across the base of the float of 4 to 511. There
has been some disturbance of the bottom for whatever reason.
He has tried to compare results and there is no doubt there
is a difference.
Mr. Sherman asked Mrs, Bradshaw if she has two boats? She
has a 131 Boston Whaler drawing 611 of water with the trim up
and an inflatable dinghy. They keep the big boat on
mooring. Asked if they will use the larder boat at the
facility, she stated they would not.
Mr, Bradshaw stated the original agreement would not allow a
boat drawing over 21 of water,
Hr. Sherman suggested taking it under advisement. In the
meantime, he will speak with the shellfish warden and perhaps
consider limiting the use of the Whaler. The certificate of
Compliance can be conditioned.
Nor. Bradshaw agreed there would be nothing larger than the
Boston Whaler,
Mr. Green questioned the two extra piles and the Agent stated
he approved that change.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded that after the Agent meets
with the shellfish Warden, to issue a Certificate of
Compliance with the condition that no craft larger
than the 131 Boston Whaler be used in connection with
the dock. Unanimous Vote,
ASH ET/SA1 TUIT RIVERWORK: The agent referred to the work
done in the Santuit liver by the Cape Cod Salti s and stated
they cannot go bend the scope of the permit as he felt was
done. What was done might go beyond an Amended Order but
felt the Commission should require this for the additional
work. Dave Sharpe agreed to work with thea.
For the Quashnet River, the water is deep enough to float
things down to the road.
cods* The Agent advised there are hundreds of outstanding
Certificates of Compliance, Question was raised how to
prioritize them,
Mr, Rosenberg suggested breaking it up by locations of
sensitive areas.
Mr. Fitzsimmons stated the first step should be a fora
letter.
