21 September 1995
Page 6 .
ago. The expansion was approved in 1990 . He displayed
drawing of the proposed house that was Bruch larger . 'hey
care before the board and it was to go forward . pat Coffey ,
his representative , -assured him he had taken care of
everything but he had not . The size and scope of the house
was cut down . The little deck serves two functions , it
connects the top to the bottom stairs and is safe for the
children . hie has had boats vandalized , so he parks them
there . There is tons of vegetation . You cannot see the deck
from the water so he wants to keep it there . hie has owned
the hone for 14 years .
Mr . Dash took offense with Mr . Sherman 's comment that they
did not give anything back . They have , on their own , reduced
the size of the house . They wanted to pint in a better
septic , not at Mr . Sherman 's request but on their own and
went from six to four bedrooms on their own . He stated the
comment that they did not give anything back is not true and
not fair .
Mr . Sherman stated back in 1990 there was not the awareness
of the 'importance of buffer strips .
Mr . Green stated Mr . Mash has no room for bending n in what he
would like to do here . Mr . Nash stated he has .
Mr . Derr cis i e r s suggested compensatory tory pl nt n s to make up
for the loss .
Mr . Green and Mr .Rosenberg did not want to accept the
proposal as 't is . Mr . Rosenberg felt that the sentiment of
the Commission may be adverse to the request and itmay be
that the applicant maY want to ask for an extension to come
up with a proposal that i ht be acceptable to the
Commission .
Mr . Lelito stated the deck across the front of the house
would give nearly the sane as the lower deck; it is within
the Duffer zone . The square footage is almost the same .
Mr . Sherman stated there still would be the encroachment
further into the 50 foot buffer strip; the deck down below
could be accepted if they were no further into the 50 foot
buffer .
.
Mr . Desrosiers asked how high the deck is and was told it is
10-12 feet off the ground .
Mr . Nash stated he would rather have no deck across the front
of the house than to give up the rawer deck .
