2 October 1995
Fuge 4 .
Mr . l s i mons asked if there were any additional concerns
due to the ACEC .
Mr . Chapman con inued , a considerable distance up the road
Jehu Pond is a low point . Grades are flat and the low areas
in the roadway r e close to being the same elevation s the
adjacent wetland on the westerly side of the road . The
wetland edge and elevations erre within one foot . There was
o sense in putting .in leaching catch basins; the pit would
be in the water table . They will put a berm the edge o
the roadway and out .in a 10 " x 101
trap rook area . Water
will d ssipate and cut back velocity .
Mr . Green asked how far it is to the marsh? Mr . Hayes
advised it i s 12 - 15 feet; now it is a straight shot .
i
Mr . Chapman stated i 'is the best way to dissipate os and
minimize disruption the woods and vegetation .
Mr .r i o g stated i the worst place for drainage
the whole road . n a good rain so m , it can get r" o
water .
Mr . Kee i n stated , o n that corner , it 's what is known s
super-elevated bank turn . When n t hey arefinished , it will
be a typical section with no low side . Once constructed it
will have a crown in it which will allow the water to run to
the two sides . He did not want anyone to thinkthat this is
not going to stop the possible flooding of water in that area
because that is associated with the wetlands and the
elevation themMR
Mr . Sher n proposed an on-site Wednesday morning 9:00 to
fine-tune prob ear areas and , in some cases , establish erosion
control and define work limits .
Mr . Grreen stated where they do have close proximity to the
marsh and creek and are putting down new asphalt , there will
be hydrocarbons , and we are talking bo Putting in run-off .
They will be dumping directly i n he marsh and we have to
think about mitigation to hold back the water until the
asphalt has had time to leach off as much as possible .
Mr . Fitzsimmons stated when they went through for the Wading
Place Load filing for Peninsula Council , they had to put in
absorption pillows i he basins . Mr .. Gree71 stated exactly ,,
it. is the sarne thing . mr . Chapman stated the absorption pads
could be put across the end of the swale .
Mr . Tayior stated you would get more from a two cycle
motorboat than with this .
