i <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Inland Waterwate: Mr. Ellis noted a sea plane landed in santuit <br /> Pond. Mr. Homeer- saw a speeding jet skier in Santuit Pond. <br /> Pot ponesset Bay : Mr. silver stated that New Seabury Marina <br /> is attempting to add a bar and lunch spot. Mr, Ellis stated : <br /> that abutters objected to their serving alcohol , so they will <br /> only serve soda and sandwiches . <br /> ' a. uo.it Bay: Mr. Fordhaia suggested that the Harborma s ter mark <br /> the boulders near seconsett Island which are a potential <br /> hazard to boaters , <br /> Dredging: Dr. Gordon reported the new dredge superintendent <br /> will he on board today. The dredge is scheduled to be delivered <br /> in June. The crane issue is getting resolved, and the tentative <br /> plan is to place the dredge at Mass Maritime. Mashpee will <br /> hopefully dredge next spring if their permits are in order., <br /> Mr, Hanks gave an update on the pe rnti ttin.g process stating the <br /> bid was awarded to the BSC Group. Mashpee can apply for grants <br /> and other support for dredging. Mr. Hanks noted the state <br /> Division of waterways can help Mashpee access 75% funding by <br /> the state. Dr. Gordon commented that additional State funding <br /> was extremely doubtful because the state was paying 100% of <br /> the cost of the County dredge . <br /> Mr. Ellis , Mr. Silver, and Mr. Hanks ret with Tom Cake i r reLjard i ng <br /> legislation that allows use of mooring fees and excise taxes <br /> to pay for dredging. mashpee may initially have to Vo for a <br /> bond. Dr. Gordon stated that $45 , 000 per year in fees translates <br /> to 10 , 000 yds. of dredging; this would help maintain the areas <br /> dredged. in Mashpee. Mr. Ellis is helping the assessors retrieve <br /> delinquent excise tax payments by denying mooring permits until <br /> }pack taxes are paid <br /> Waterways Bylaws/Regulations : A sub committee meeting will <br /> be held. next Tuesday, ..April 9 , 1996 , at 9 + 0 o a.m. at Mr. Silver ' s <br /> house to review the following: ( 1 ) The draft copy of the <br /> regulations that belong in the Bylaws , ( ) the summary of the <br /> new mooring regulations that Mr. Ellis modified for mailing <br /> out with the mooring notices, and. ( 3 ) regulations for <br /> Ma shpee/Wake y Pond. Mr. Ellis received a copy of a memo from <br /> Lawrence chen.ier to Richard Murray, Actings Chief of Massachusetts <br /> Environmental Police (MEP) , obj ectin to sone new wording of <br /> our Bylaws, Mr. Hanks stated that we are waiting for two <br /> approvals , legislation changes to use mooring fee funds and. <br /> Bylaw language changes by MHP . <br /> - - <br />
