L <br /> MASHPEE WATERWAYS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES JUNE 31 1996 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT* Jim Hanks ,, Ben Gordon, Don Lund Fired <br /> Fordham, William Rowland, Herb Silver, Dan Home' er, � <br /> Also present: Ferry Ellis, Harbormaster <br /> Rick York, Shellfish constable <br /> AIT To ORDER: Mr. Hanks called the meet i n to order in the <br /> Mashpee Middle School Library at 7 : 00 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: A Public Hearing for the- John' s Pond -Ski Team <br /> commenced with George Ryan reading a letter which was ' art of <br /> a handout to the Waterways Commission. They are seek� ' <br /> �,nto <br /> use a small area of John ' s Pond for a water-ski jjump and slalom <br /> course between the hour s 'o f 3 : 00 m. and 7 :00 - .m. on Tuesday <br /> � y <br /> through Thursday. Equipment will be removed and stored on the <br /> Reran property when net .in use. Marc Deltero of 13 Sunset <br /> Circle circulated pictures of the ski equipment. The ski jump <br /> and slalom course will not be used at the same time. The <br /> supporters who spoke at the hearing are as follows: <br /> Florence wall , Niniret Avenue, gave her supdort, <br /> Debbie Burn, Saddleback Avenue, is supportive and -view ' <br /> �� s this <br /> sport as non--invasive. The hours between 3.- 00 p .ra. and <br /> 7 * 00 p.m. are good* <br /> Mary Hallinanr Nini ret Avenue, stated this activity is <br /> entertaining,- safe, and there i s insurance coverage in place. <br /> She gave her support, <br /> Jack O' Halloran, 187 N'in.i ret Avenue word <br /> � # s for Mr. Ryan and <br /> stated this is a relaxing, simple sport after work. <br /> Don True, James Circle, stated it is unobtrusive and no <br /> problem <br /> as far as taking up space . <br /> John.
