• Dredge Shoestring Bay Winter 2001-2002 and Conduct Post Dredging Survey Future • Renew State and Federal permits for maintenance dredging Popponesset and. Waquoit Bays • Conduct Maintenance Dredging and Post dredging surveys as needed. This Future represents starting the on-going process of renewing state permits, which are only valid for 5 years, and the Army Corps of Engineers permit which is valid for 10 years. This activity will start in approximately 2002 when we will begin to repeat the cycle that we started in 1995. To support this activity, we propose a "revolving fund" approach described below. Funding To fund this effort, we envision using the newly established fund for mooring fees to accumulate money for dredging purposes. We also propose that fine money from waterways infractions, money from public donations, and waterways improvement funds be used as they become available to defray the costs. For Phase I sediment sampling, it seems appropriate to also request some of the money the Planning Board has in it's Windchime Condominium study account. We would like to arrange things so that we minimize borrowing and don't start out in the red. osts • Waquoit Bay and Popponesset Bay Maintenance Dredging and Post Dredging Survey $95,000 in 1997. • Phase I - Feasibility Analysis and Data gathering. The total scope of the permitting process can range from$118,000 to $250,000 depending on the approach. By breaking it up into increments, we can change the scope of the effort to match our needs as we determine them. Right now, we have a wide range of alternatives and very little factual data with which to narrow down the options.
