ti <br /> Popponesset Bay: Mr. Hanks gave the report in Mr. Silver ' s <br /> absence . Mr. Hanks and Mr. Silver helped the Harbormaster haul <br /> the center channel markers . The Mash-dee Watershed Management <br /> Committee met, and Mr . Hanks distributed the Brian Howes Report <br /> on ,nutrient Related Water Quality within the Popponesset Bair <br /> System. Brian will accept coraments on i t. Mr, Hanks noted <br /> some changes. The next Watershed i,iieet i n4 is scheduled for <br /> January 27th. <br /> ' a. ..uoit Ba Mr. Fordham stated there- have been some high winds <br /> but it has net caused any damage on the .island. There have <br /> been softie duck hunters on the spit. <br /> Mr. Hanks saw seals while duck hunting with Mr. Ellis . <br /> Mr. Hanks also saw a man catch and release a bass in the Moonakis <br /> River, Mr, Bl .i s saw fish Jumping near Half Tide Marina in <br /> Shoe s tr inq Bay. Paul Lumsden reported the herring are still <br /> running in the Mashpee liver from Mashpee-Wakeby Lake <br /> Dred in : Bill Taylor has been sworn in as the Town <br /> Representative to the county Dredge coimiii ttee and is expect ins <br /> to hear about a future meeting. <br /> Mr. Ellis stated there is a large dredging prod ect in Triton <br /> Way in the planninq stage, The New Seabury landowners hired <br /> BSC to do the engineering work. This is a $2 ,000 ,000 project <br /> Which includes dig ing a channel in Popponesset at no cost to <br /> the Town. The conservation ALjent wants studies done , and the <br /> Audubon Society does not want low tide island removed because <br /> shore birds walk on it. Mr. B111' s supports the project and <br /> feels it will provide flushing to Popponesset Bay. <br /> Waterways By-Laws and Regulations : Mr. Hanks stated there has <br /> been no activity. <br /> date on Waterways linj2rovertient Plan and Dred in Permits <br /> and Aubrey Consulting are doin <br /> } The team of BSC Engineering a q <br /> the work for the New Seabury group, Aubrey consulting did the <br /> flushing analysis for us. They filed the environmental <br /> notification form for this project with the state and that <br /> tri ered the MBPA review. The purpose of that is to illicit <br /> comments to help shape the de s i n. Mr . Ellis stated they will have to get <br /> approval from the list of 18 agencies like we are doing.
