Mr, York reported he spoke with the State officials on the actual licensing <br /> procedure for the shellfish farms. once it goes past our Conservation Commission, the <br /> State DEP does not approve or reject them. All they do is review it for completeness of <br /> the application. The Array Corps of Engineers sends a letter approving or rejecting. That <br /> is the final step. <br /> Mr. York said that he will be meeting with the Army Corps of Engineers and IEP <br /> to decide ghat the significance of the ruppia grass is. They have mapped an area on top of <br /> Great liver in 1993 from aerial photographs as containing the r appia grass. It is a <br /> protected grass because it is submerged aquatic vegetation. <br /> 3. Committee Reports <br /> Fresh water—Mr. Taylor <br /> Mr. Taylor reported that Bill Marsters had his first meeting of the Lake <br /> Management C ommittee. The lake 1 evel i s now fine and it is now Ju st a case of watching <br /> it. The only thing that was done was that the spillway was cleaned. Cleaning of the <br /> spillway may have been what straightened it out. <br /> Po monesset n ay Asea—Mr. Silver <br /> Mr. Silver reported there was a lot of traffic over the weekend. There were some <br /> problems with the personal watercraft in Ockway Bay. For the most part, everything was <br /> secure. <br /> Mashpee watershed Committee <br /> Mr. Silver reported that he is no longer assigned to he on the watershed <br /> Committee; however, he was able to vote in the last meeting. Wayne Taylor was voted in <br /> as Chairman. Beverly Kane is the vice Chairman, Mai-. Silver did send a letter to Mr. <br /> Taylor, at his request, stating that he would be pleased to serve on the Committee again. <br /> Mr. Hanks stated that he was now a member of the Committee. He has not been <br /> sworn in yet. The main topic of the meeting was continuing with the water Quality <br /> Management Project. They discussed the need for more public relations pertaining to the <br /> problem, particularly to support the sewage system management plan. Mr. Hanks put <br /> together a package for Wayne Taylor which consisted of a briefing, ars overview of the <br /> project and a copy of the statement of work. <br /> New Seabury Replenishment Project <br /> r <br /> Mr. Silver reported that he has not received a notice for any meeting. <br />
