Wayne Jaedtke thought that he would have the <br /> bathymetry data and the contour chart of the pond <br /> by tonight' s meeting but unfortunately he was <br /> running behind schedule and we were not able to <br /> obtain them. <br /> Ed Baker commented that he had occasion to observe <br /> the Ashumet Pond recently and he found that pond' s <br /> water level to be considerable lower than average . <br /> Jim Hanks commented that he had heard that for the <br /> most part the Cape pond' s water levels were down <br /> 1-2 feet. <br /> 5. Barnstable County Coastal Resources Committee <br /> Update - Gerald Daly. <br /> Mr. Daly reported that due to circumstances beyond <br /> his control he was unable to attend the past <br /> months meeting. <br /> 6. Natural Resources Management Committee - Paul <br /> Lumsden. <br /> Mr. Lumsden reported that the Committee did meet <br /> but a quorum was not present and therefore an <br /> official meeting was not held. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Roles and Responsibilities - Chairman, Jim Hanks, <br /> distributed a draft of the Waterways Commission Roles and <br /> Responsibilities that will be submitted to the Board of <br /> Selectmen. This draft is in response to a memo received <br /> from the Town Administrator on November 28 regarding our <br /> Commissions roles and responsibilities. <br /> A Lengthy discussion was held with different members giving <br /> input and sharing their thoughts and ideas concerning the <br /> role of our committee in our community. <br /> Jim Hanks, along with commission members, compiled a list <br /> of representative Waterways Commission accomplishments of <br /> the past few years . <br /> Examples of these are: 1992 ---- Made recommendations <br /> regarding protection of Popponesset Spit to reduce the risk <br /> of Losing the Spit, 1995-97 Developed an on-going Waterways <br /> Improvement Plan for improving Navigation in our Bays, 1996 <br /> - Present - working to obtain dredging permits for the <br /> Mashpee River, 2000 - Arranged for and assisted in the <br />
