The north end of <br /> Hamblin Pond is closed. These closures are all due to contamination. <br /> Jim Hanks asked Rick if he had gained any more insight as to what is going on in <br /> Hamblin Pond. lick responded that Hanmblin-Pond is going to have an expanded <br /> water quality report done on it. once again, the contamm�ation in Hamblin Pond is <br /> due to road runoff from Dutchman's Brook coning directly from Monomoscoy Road <br /> from the new wildlife refuge and also from Redbrook Stream corning in on the town <br /> fine. <br /> Tehu Pond is closed for management to let the shellfish grow up, and will remain <br /> closed until June 3e. waquoit B a , the south side opened May I". The harvesting <br /> of quahogs is going quite weli in that area as well as some scallop seed being spotted. <br /> These favorable, early reports may mean a successful shellfish return this season. <br /> We are waiting for the Selectmen to appoint Steven Marques who has been <br /> 11ormnated to the Shellfish Commission. <br /> Enforcements: The Shellfish Commission was approved for more time for waterway <br /> patrolling, new signs, and more money,for water quality monitoring all over town, <br /> which is for 250 samples over the next fiscal year. <br />
