15 May 1997
Page 12.
Self-Help: The Agent advised he told Town Planner he would assist as much
s possible. He would lie to have John Johansen do the research and pay
him $10 per hour out of the Conservation Fund. This would not be a confhet
of interest.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded to engage John Johansen at $10 per
hour to assist with the Self-Help apphcation.
Mr. Johansen abstained.
Motion carried.
Bog conversion reds: Copies distributed for review.
S enber - l ed access: It has not been removed. Mr. Rosenberg
enberg
suggested contacting the Police Department and telling them he is in a
trespass situation.
Nir. Sherman did not feel the police would tape action but, if going through the
police, it should go through Bob Whritenour. The Commission agreed.
CCS: Monitoring wells show groundwater is +2.1 feet.
Wildlife refuge: An open house is being held on June 7th. .A Television and
VCR is being ng loaned to the Commission by Commissioners. The Agent will
sept tapes to be shown. A schedule for manpower will be set-up next
meeting.
Refuge Parkin; Lot: Aft. Sherman advised there was a machine word ing
on the paring lot at the refuge on Friday; the town did it. The Commission
was not notified and it is the Commission's land. Mr. Sherman was perturbed
not to have been notified, it would have been permitted. Selectman Costa
called and apologized. Torn Fudala has known about it for months. Cam
were received from the public and the office knew nothing about it.
Mr. Rosenberg thought this should be let go.
It was noted this was part of a grant.
Rivers Act: Draft reqs are out. The Agent advised some things are good and
some are very scary. A good new provision is they are going to have a Notice
of Intent for delineation of resource areas. They are going to declare some
things minor activity with no ming necessary, including vista pruning. MACC
has great reservations. There is a hearing on Monday at 7:00 p.m. in
Lakeville.
