12 June 1997
Rage 5.
revision and were able to relocate the structure.
Ir. Sherman stated he did an overlay for comparison purposes.
Mr. tarot ke stated they are only encroaching 5 feet into the buffer strip.
Most important is that they can only go so close to the street. It makes no
difference if they have a garage or not, the oars reed to be parked, off road.
At B oard of Appeals it was brought up for the need to get as far away as
possible from the road. Visibility was an issue for vehicles entering and
accessing Tide Run. They do need a way to get in, turn around and get out
again. It is a bad place to have an entrance at all but it is a buildable lot,
town approved when they approved the subdivision. It was approved that
Great Oak Road be elsewhere, not where it is currently. There is a small crow
of plantings in the corner, an entry feature for the village. They have also moved the work mit upland
and feel that every compromise has been made as far as reducing the size of
the residence. No further compromises can be made in changing the parking.
Mr. Johansen suggested a turntable. Mr. tarot ke stated that would be very.
expensive.
Mr. Sherman questioned Nir. Grot ke's statement that the DPW
recommended Haat the house go no further back towards the road. Mr.
Grotke advised on an earlier plan when they did not have the house
encroaching on the wetland, they had the house set back beyond the 50 feet
with an encroachment into the 30 foot s tb aek from the road. The community
and Greg Taylor dict not like those encroachments. Mr. Taylor had written a
letter stating no encroachments are permitted beyond the 30 foot setback
from Great Oak Road.
11r. Sherman stated in terms of m ng a judgment as to whether or not they
have gone as far as they could in moving the house. It would be important to
have fir. Taylor's exact language.
Mrs. Glaser stated she is five feet tall if that is what is being discussed, that
is it. When they carne to the meeting in September, the Commission said they
had to go to Board of Appeals and if they agreed then the Commission would
