9 October 1997
Page 13.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded.to nominate Elliot Rosenberg as
appointee to the MMR Advisory Committee Unanimous Vote.
A newspaper article on pollution at Mashpee-waeby was distributed.
Applicant/Owner: The Agent advised the Commission ]peeps getting
applications where a sale is pending and the applicant is listed as owner.
There are legal problems acting on this. The policy has been that until the
sale tales place they have to Est the actual property owner at the time the
application is made.
Mr. Rosenberg stated we must get from the assessors a statement on the form
that the applicant is the owner of the property. without that, the Commission
cannot hear the matter or issue and should strictly adhere to this.
Mashpee Water District: A newspaper article was dtributed for review.
The Agent advised he has not yet been contacted.
Bog Access: Because of vandalism and partying, there have been
discussions of putting gates up. A letter of support was received from the
Animal Control Officer, June Paley. It is unknown whether the Commission
will have a continuing source of funds for this as each gate would cost 2-
000. It was agreed this should be deferred.
Mr. Sharpe felt this should be on a Mashpee Police patrol agenda, with thein
patrog the areas even four hours.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded to table the natter. Unanimous Vote.
Chapter 172: The Agent stated definitions need changing with respect to
other new laws. He and Mr. Rosenberg will work on this.
Nitrogen Loading: An article was distributed. A second article re
protection of wetlands distributed also.
Madsen; Plans are to raze an old cottage. They are sending a letter asking
to change plans and not raze the cottage. There wi31 be no plumbing or
electricity. The Agent suggested consideration of the request and he will
verify that it is not habitable. It will be made clear to the Building Dept. and
Board of Health that there will be no conversion. A letter to be sent to both
departments.
