Town of Mashpee <br /> Conservation Commission <br /> March 5, 1998 <br /> The Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission Meeting was <br /> called to order in the Conference Room, Mashpee Town Hall, 1. <br /> Great Neck Road North, 1ahpee, Massachusetts at 6 : 55 p.m. on <br /> Thursday, March 5. 1998 . The Chairman, John Fitzsinunons, <br /> presided* <br /> Conservation commissioners present : John Fit sinnons, <br /> Chairman; John Johansen, Clerk George F. Green, Jr. ; Ralph Shaw; <br /> Greg Wiesen, Associate Member; and Robert A. Lopez. <br /> Absent : Elliot Rosenberg, vice Chairman; Karry Desroiers; <br /> and Dave Sharpe. <br /> Also present: Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent. <br /> A quorum being present, the Chairman called the Meeting to <br /> order. As the first order of business he opened the floor to <br /> Public Comment related to Conservation commission activities. <br /> There being none, he recognized the Conservation Agent for the <br /> purpose of addressing Post-Dearing Agenda items <br /> old Business o.B. #5 - Mr. Sheerman informed the Commission <br /> of the Cape Cod Commission requirement of a supplemental, draft <br /> Environmental Impact Report with reference to the Rolland Mill, <br /> which has been submitted. He stated he has made a preliminary <br /> review of the- report. He has not seen comments from either <br /> Audubon or Massachusetts National Heritage. There is a Rearing <br /> scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 1998, Mashpee Town Hall, at <br /> 7 : 00 p.m. Mr. Sherman did have a copy of the draft supplemental, <br /> for the Commission' s benefit . <br /> i <br /> O.B. #' ` Mr. Sherman explained his intent had been to <br /> address this issue, but has not had an opportunity to speak with <br /> Elias. A tight tan} has been permitted at Mono oscoy, which IEP <br /> is now denying. Mr. Green asked if any reason for the denial had <br /> been given; to which it. Sherman replied he had not been given <br /> any reason. The Attorney for the Bakers have requested the <br /> Commission to correspond with DEP, asking then to reconsider <br /> their decision. Mr. Sherman stated he would not take any action <br /> pending communication with Elias . <br /> The appointed hour having arrived, the Chairman called the <br /> 7 : 00 Appli.cation-Mashpee Board of Selectmen review of a plan for <br /> management of pond water levels through control of the spillway <br /> at the southern end of the Pond emptying into Mashpee River. <br /> Mr. Sherman explained this to be a joint Hearing with the <br /> Town of Sandwich Conservation Commission.
