18 November 1999
Page 10.
Mr. Sherman stated there are several issues with this application. According
to the plan, the structure is proposed in a velocity zone. He discussed this
with the Building Inspector and Rebecca Haney. It may be granted with the
structure elevated above the v-zone. Details are needed on what will be used
to elevate that structure and a judgment made of the impacts.
Mr. Mayes stated this is in the buffer zone to the dune, in the driveway. They
agreed to put in drywells. The structure is not in the dune. It is going to be
elevated and will be on piers or platform to meet performance standards.
They are scheduled with Z A on 9 December. There is nothing in the
regulations to deny this project. He asked the Commission to let them know
what is wanted and they will close on the 2nd before ZA.
Mr. Sherman stated they are asking the Commission to approve the footprint
but he did not believe this could be formally approved. It is quite proper to
elevate this and it might be per issable but we could not go ahead and pass
this footprint. It will be necessary to know how utilities are going to be taken
to this property.
Mr. Mayes stated lattice work will not be accepted on the dune side. They
will put a row of Japanese Fines so there will be no scouring. Mr.. Sherman
asked if they should get rid of the plywood around the storage area
underneath the existing house because there is scouring` Mr. Mayes will get
an answer. It will have to meet State Building Code.
Mr. Sherman road into the record a letter from Mildred Campbell and Mr.
and Mrs. George Brown.
Mr. Hayes stated they had to go to Board of Appeals variance. They will ask
for a denial and go to DBP for a Superseding Order.
Michael Kelley referred to an order issued in 1983 and asked if there were
proposed leaching catch basins to prevent run-off from the property. Now, he
stated, Mr. Hayes is, talking about adding more. Mr. Mayes stated they are
actuallyreducing run-off with dr ells in the driveway in front of the garage.
yw
There is a hollow in the road and storm water collects in the V. Residents o
this road are causing the run-off.
Mr. Kelley stated section 15 of the order of Conditions requires that all areas
must be stabilized. This is going to disturb what has been added to this area.
