18 November 1993
Rage 1 .
Mr. Sherman read from the RFiverfront Act, 33D He did not believe they had
explored fully all alternatives. It does not meet the standards to push
everything as far away as possible. If they do not explore the possibility, he
would recommend denial.
Ms Fantozzi stated -the septic permit is in place. If that is what the
Commission needs to do, they will deal with their option.
Mr. Bortolotti stated this home is for his use, he is not selling it. The size of
the lot is the largest in the neighborhood. Mr. Sherman stated that is not
relevant. Mr. Bortolotti stated if you view some of the houses in them, he i
looking for leniency.
Ms anto i'stated this plan brings the lawn down to nothing. He will work
with what is there. Mr. Bortolotti -stated he would be willing to offer a
pervious driveway instead of paved.
The Chair called for public comments.
Ms Boretos stated this is what is called an old growth forest on Cape Cod and
may be well over 150 years old. 'There are very few left on the entire Cape.
Mr. Bortolotti stated in an effort to salvage those trees and root growth, they
have moved the house. Only one 12" tree will be affected, others are smaller.
He wants to make the house fit between all those trees.
The Chair stated everyone appreciates Mr. ortolotti's attempts at mitigation
but in view of the strong recommendation from the Agents, there is
passibility of a denial.
Mr. Bortolotti stated the Commission is asking for a redesign of his home.
The garage is designed for security reasons. They want to be able to shut the
door and walk into the home. He is not asking for anything outrageous.
Ms Fantozzi stated in separating the house and garage there would be
grading issues that will cause more disruption. Mr. Sherman stated the
crucial thing is gaining distance. He asked if they wished to continue t
explore alternatives? Ms Fantozzi stated they do not wish to continue.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded to deny the Notice of Intent for
ortolotti Construction. Unanimous Note.
