i for their comment/input, Renee Fud la stated she is the mother of two (2) young children, and that she purchased her property because it does in fact abut the conservation area. She stated this provides n opportunity to teach her children the values of nature, including how to respect and act as stewards of the land. She stated her children love the peaceful nature the open space area provides them, and also the opportunity to roam and explore the land. She spoke to the proposed road construction and how it would decrease property values, as well as to decrease the children' values. Kevin Carey stated the existing access road running from the neighborhood to Route 28 is a literal dump, strewnwith washing machines, tines, asphalt, and beer cans, ll on conservation land. He stated, "We don' t want that In our backyard. " "We absolutely do not want that in our backyard. " Tracy Vachon stated she is the mother of three children. She also stated they have seen deer, fawns, and other wildlife on the property. She stated she would life to preserve the area as It is, and that she would very much like to be able to allow her children to play in their backyard and to retrieve- a ball without the danger of being hit by any type of motor vehicle. Shirley Hansen stated a six year old autistic boy is currently living with her. She expressed her concern for his safety should he follow the road being proposed out to Route 28. She stated the difficulties she has experienced trying to confine the boy to the house, noting the construction of a road would serge to provide him the opportunity to run the length of the road without stopping. She also noted the proximity of the proposed road to her property. She spore directly to the safety issues this proposal would create, stating she finds the proposal to be frightening. George Green interjected the property in question abuts .mature forest, noting their rarity on Cape Cod. Renee Fudala Mated she has personally heard and seen hermit thrush and other deep forest birds. She also noted the whippoorwill population would be impacted. Following brief discussion regarding procedure, as well as the Chairman determining ng there- was no further public comment, a motion was made. MOTION: George Green made a motion that Staff be directed to draft a letter to the Selectmen requesting they postpone the Article being submitted by the Water Department requesting -5-
