Nor. Sanicki stated drywells are being proposed as mitigating
measures for roof runoff, a fifty foot buffer strip to the work
limits from the wetland. He also pointed our variations located
at the top of the bark, stating work is being proposed within
five feet of the top of the bank.
The Chairman questioned whether or not there is a change in
footprint. References were being made to the location of the
existing septic system.
Mr. Sanicki stated the deck would be located fifty-three
feet from the wetland area.
Diane Boretos stated her initial reaction to the project was
concern for the proximity of the resource area. After making an
inspection of the project area this date, she suggested approval
of the project with serious mitigation of planting of
shrubs, six feet on center from property line to property line
from the work limit in order -to enhance the area adjacent to the
marsh. She stated the area does not currently provide for a lot
of habitat, however additional plantings would provide nesting
and feeding opportunities.
Mr. Sanicki appeared to have no objections to the
suggestions made by Ms. Boretos, noting the obvious en ironental
benefits, stating he would accept any conditions made by the
Commission.
Mr. Sherman informed the Commission of unpaid taxes in
connection with this property, noting the Town Bylaw precludes
issuance until and unless the ratter is resolved.. Mr. Sanicki
stated he had not been aware of this development.
Ms . Boretos rade the following recommendation for a
revegetation plan: Approval pending submission within two-weeks
of a landscaping plan prepared by a. certified landscaper,
approved by Conservation Staff for mitigation plantings in the
areas seaward of the limited work line from property line t
property line as follows - six feet on tenter plantings of
hi hbush blueberry, inkberry, shad u-sh, arrow wood, bybermed and
taddum) . These plantings shall be a minims of four feet in
height at the time of planting and must be in at least one
growing season before issuance of a Certificate of Compliance.
1r. Sanicki requested an extension on the two- week
requirement. 1r. Sherman suggested lir. Sanicki prepare a revised
plan based upon those recommendations rade by Ms. Boretos, with
Condition that the plantings be dome by a certified landscaper;
to which both Ms. Boretos and mr. Sanicki agreed.
Mr. Sherman also suggested the entire ratter be continued
for two weeps in order that the tax and revised plan issues be
addressed by the Applicant and at which time the C renis ion would
be free to Close and Issue. -1o-
i
