elevation which has been delineated as flood contour 12; and that
portion of a coastal bank; which requires a filing of Notice of
Intent.
Mr. Mailo stated that any installation/excavation work would
be backfilled on the same day; any disturbed areas would be
stabilized (within ten (10) days) and revegetated. It is being
proposed that the service connection running underneath the paved
surface of Forest Road and underneath the ground as it approaches
house #18 would be moled, rather than an open cut through the
bank and paved road areas. In response to a question put by Ms.
Boretos he stated the trench would be approximately two (2) feet
wide; the bell hole would be approximately 3 x 3.
Diane Boretos recommended approval with the condition that
hay bales be installed at the end of the line.
There being no public comment or further Commission
discussion, the Chairman entertained a motion.
MOTION: Carol Moore made a Motion to Close and Issue in
this matter subject to installing hay bales at the end of the
line; which Motion was duly seconded and so voted unanimously.
Non-Hearing Agenda
The Chairman recognized the Conservation Agent for the
purpose of presenting the following:
Old Business:
1. Reminder, important meeting scheduled for April 19th, at
1: 30 p.m. , regarding Triton Nourishment; the DEP on-site visit is
scheduled for 11: 00 a.m.
2 . Steve Hurley has done an excellent job regarding the
status report on Quashnet Bogs, copies of which were provided to
Commissioners.
There was brief discussion regarding Quashnet, Farley, and
Garner Bogs.
The Chairman distributed copies of a draft letter to Mr.
Whritenour for Commission review and discussion.
Mr. Sherman suggested the word "ultimate" in the second
paragraph be revised to read "primary" to which everyone agreed.
MOTION: Ralph Shaw made a Motion to authorize the
Conservation Staff to prepare said draft letter in final form
with the amended word change from "ultimate" to "primary" in the
second paragraph; which Motion was seconded by George Green and
so voted unanimously.
-22-
