27 duly 2000 <br /> Page 5. <br /> Mr. Sherman asked the depth to the nearest foot of that anoxic zone. <br /> Dr. Howes stated it varies from year to year but last year it seemed to be at <br /> 21', It had been brought up about that marginal zone, 22' depth, and they <br /> are going to focus their work in shallower depths and in some depths a little <br /> bit deeper. That is where they are going to look for annuals. <br /> The Chair asked if they had done that? Dr. Howes stated they have done the <br /> coring and diving and are waiting to go out, hopefully next week, with the <br /> Natural Heritage people to do this marginal survey. <br /> Mr. Smith stated it is part of their program related to the plumes in the other <br /> projects, They have done a baseline ecological survey on a number of ponds. <br /> They do have benthic data collections from samples they are making <br /> available to Natural Heritage folks. They wanted for there to have the <br /> opportunity to come down and get some data themselves. <br /> The Chair stated that they do not have this data for Ashumet Pond. Mr. <br /> Smith stated they do have data currently, yes. <br /> Dr. Howes stated they have the general survey. The fringe area is way <br /> outside the area of application. <br /> Mr. Sherman stated in the supplement to the Notice of Intent, the narrative, <br /> Bill Fisher pointed out in his.memo that there are-various places within this <br /> narrative where this number changes. <br /> Dr. Howes stated they could fix that, <br /> The Chair stated the Notice of Intent provides that tie proposed application <br /> depth is 25'. Mr. smith stated the proposed application depth should be 35'. <br /> Mr. Sherman 'stated it says different things in different places. That has to <br /> be clarified.
