I I k i Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission Minutes of Meeting February 14, 2002 The Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission Meeting was called to order in Conference Room #3, mashpee Town hall, 1 Great Neck Road North, MashpeeMassachusetts at p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2002 . The Chairman, John Fit summons, presided. Commissioners present : John Fitzsimmons, Chairman; John Johansen, Clerk; Stephanie Jones, Associate Member; Carole Moore; Ralph Shaw; and Michael Talbot. Also present : Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent . The Chairman declared a quorum to be present and called the meeting to order. Public Comment - None. Non-Hearing Agenda - Old Business 1. willowbend - Mr. Sherman informed the Commission of a Staff Meeting scheduled in Lakeville at 10 :30 a.m. The Chairman suggested the Vote on whether or not to accept the minutes of the Willowbend January 24, 2002 Meeting be postponed to a latex date in order to provide the Commissioners sufficient time for review. oo Robert Flemming for vista pruning, replacement of deck, repair fence and plantings at 71. Buccaneer way, Assessors Neap 90, Block '7 . Michael Talbot stepped down in this matter. The Chairman recognized Stephanie Jones, representing her husband, Robert Flemming, who explained the entire lot falls under Conservation jurisdiction. Ms. Jones requested approval for vista pruning, 50 ft. , cut back at the top. The deck and fencing are in need of replacement as they have both deteriorated.. Post and rail construction is being proposed to allow wildlife passage. Request was also made for the removal of the barberry, honeysuckle, and bittersweet from the property; mitigation plantings of it err , viburnum, and blueberry. The above requests are being made in perpetuity. On behalf of the Assistant Agent, Mr. Sherman recommended approval, pending notification to Massachusetts National Heritage, and receipt of a DEP number.
