i
entertained a motion.
MOTION: John Johansen made a motion to Close pending
receipt of DEP number and proper notification to Massachusetts
National Heritage; which lotion was seconded by Carole Moore and
so voted unanimously.
7 : 05 Peter Garabedian for vista pruning at 86 Pimlico Pond
Road, Assessors Map 3, Block 86 .
The Chairman recognized Thomas Jalowy, representing
Applicant, who made references to the plan as he described the
proposed project .
Mr. Jalowy proposed layering at the sides of the view
corridor; with plantings to include blueberry, bayberry,
chokeberry, viburnum, and inkberr .
Mr. Sherman reported he has explained to Mr. Jalow k that
the request for an extension beyond the view corridor is highly
unusual and something the Commission rarely approves .
The Assistant Agent has made an inspection of the property
and has commented as follows: This area is beach forest which
usually does not provide for plant growth. Michael Talbot
concurred with this observation.
Mr. Sherman reported on behalf of the Assistant Agent to
deny the request for extension; she suggests Applicant return
with a request for approval of a standard view corridor.
Mr. Sherman suggested Applicant consider a two-week
continuance in the matter of the extension.
. Jalowy requested a decision regarding vista pruning
within the Griew corridor.
Mr. Sherman explained the Commission would not be able to
issue a combined decision at this meeting. He suggested the
matters be addressed separately, which means Applicant would have
to amend the order for the expansion matter.
The Chairman expressed concern regarding any waiver granting
an extension to the view corridor. He feels this would be
contrary to the actions of the commission over the past several
Fears. He also stated his opinion there are no compelling
reasons to grant a waiver, and that he would be opposed at the
time of a vote.
Mr. Sherman requested a revised plan, eliminating the
proposed expanded view corridor, to be referenced as the plan o
record.
-2-
