owner, Mr. Berlin, was required to restore the bank and the subsequent owners
took away the remaining trees and pretty much brush hogged the slope. Pretty
discouraging -- a lot of time spent at this site to years ago, and these folks
claimed they were never told they had to file anything with ancone. Diane
recommended that the owners be asked to file notice of intent for restoration by
a competent professional by the end of September.
Motion made; seconded; and unanimously carried to ask the owners to file a
notice of intent for restoration by a competent professional by the end of
September.
Re: Cranberry issues. Peggy advised Mr. Handy in May that he was not to
spend money that was in a prior budget for work at the Quashnet bogs because
that money was being retained for possible relocation of the stream and might
net need to be reallocated. We need to kn ow what the environmental changes
will be there first.
Mr. Handy has since written a letter to the chairman of this Board saying he is
scheduling this work and the Town will pay for it.
The other issue IIIb. Handy raised in his letter to the chairman was the payment
of an additional $12,000 that he believes he's entitled to that dates back three
years in the contract that are part of the negotiations. He did the work for which
he wants to be paid the $12,000. Essentially we don't want to pay him twice for
the work he's already been paid.
Peggy prepared a letter to Mr. Handy for Bob's signature saying no to both
issues. It will be seat tomorrow certified mail, so that if he does continue to say
he's going to schedule work, we have good solid communication sabring we're
not paying for it,
Motion made; seconded; and unanimously carried to endorse letter dated
August 5, 2002 to Brian Handy from Bob Sherman.
Re: Barrows property. Diane obtained Commissioners' signatures on self-help
monies form for the Barrows property
Fie: order of conditions for Crocker.er. Pegg] stated at the last meeting an
Order of Conditions was issued for a 2-bedroom hoose. However, applicants
had applied and advertised for a 3-bedroom house, so a corrected order of
Conditions is needed to reflect that it's for a 3 -bedroom house.
Motion made; seconded; and unanimously carried to approve a 3-bedroom
house.
