• plan, per the above, that the apron is totally removed from Conservation land, and
some fence should differentiate the boundary with Conservation land.
3. RFAA-SE 43-2200, 42 Fells Pond Road. Bob said this regards a 2 ft. widening of
one corner on the water side which is well within the work limit, and a widening of a
room on the street side. He recommended approval.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve RFAA-SE 43-2200.
4. Assistant Conservation Agent. Bob said this is a temporary position, 19 hours per
week has been posted, there have been 4-5 inquiries, and the deadline is September
12th. He recommended that Aqua sit in on the interviews, as she formerly ran a large
personnel department and has a lot of expertise in this area, and all agreed. He asked
if one of the members would like to sit in. It was decided that Jack would attend if
available, Elliot will be the second alternate, and Michael the third.
5. Lawrence Werrick, 10 Wheelhouse Road. Michael distributed to the members some
notes he made regarding Mr. Werrick's request for a vista pruning. He stated that
while substantial growth has taken place, the trees are still too small to do proper vista
pruning (essentially, they'd have to be topped). Therefore, he recommended that no
vista pruning be permitted at this time. Bob concurs.
• Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to not permit any vista pruning at this
time.
New Business:
1. New Notice of Intent forms. Bob said they were supposed to be simplified, but are
more complicated. Now they want latitude and longitude.
2. Bill Fisher. Bob said Bill, who has done a great service for us at URS regarding all
Air Force issues, is moving on to another company. He offered us the option of serving
us at his new company. Bob said his associates at URS have been very capable, and
he doesn't know if this is our decision alone, because most of the money has come
from the Air Force through the Selectmen, so he assumes they will share in the
decision-making process. Bob would like to make a recommendation to the Selectmen
on behalf of this Board that we keep Bill Fisher on. He's one of the best consultants
we've ever had, he's been on top of things, and he knows the history of the project.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to authorize Bob to make a
recommendation to the Selectmen on behalf of this Board that we continue to retain Bill
Fisher.
•
