Mashpee Conservation Commission Minutes of April 1 , 2008 Public Hearings - I lashpee Town Hall Commissioners Present: Ralph Shaw, Jeff Dross, Lloyd Allen, John Rogers,, Cass costa, Len Pinaud and Bob Anderson . Staff present: Drew Mc Manus(conservation Agent), Elizabeth leidhold (Asst. Conservation Agent) and Melissa Brown (Board Secretary) Ralph Shaver called the meeting to order : pm Post Hearing A ends: � Y 1) ee Jeep club clean Up—April 15, 2008 The Agent informed the commission of the upcoming ee Jeep club Clean Up. He explained that it will be held this corning Saturday:April 19,2005, beginning at :30 am for anyone who may want to volunteer and that it will take place at the Doisy Hole and John's Pond Conservation areas. The Agent mentioned that the D.P.W will be proviO ing vouchers for the participants to dump the trash for free. The Enterprise will be covering the clean up as well. The Agent stated that last years clean up was a huge success and he expected the same this year. Haley and Aldrich—Feasibility Study The Agent informed the Commission that on Apr*l 22nd he will be receiving the final feasibility study from Haley and Aldrich. He stated that he had requested enough copies for every Commissioner so that everyone can review the information. Approve Meeting Minutes from 03/20/2008. lotion rade, seconded and unanimously carried to approve.the minutes of 0312012008. 4 uasbnet Bogs Presentation—Steve Hurley The Agent explained that he would litre to invite Mr. l~-udey back to do his presentation again due to the small group that was present at the last meeting for it. He would like everyone to get a chance to hear the information. He stated that they need to decide on the Quashnet Bogs but need to all have the necessary information to do so. 5) St.Vincent's Property The Agent informed the Commission that the St. Vincent's camp property has been put as an item on the Town's fleeting Agenda. The Town would like the property to be purchased by the Conservation Commission and under Conservation care. The Agent stated that he would like to arrange a date,for all the Commissioner's to get a site tour with the Agent. Commissioner r Shaw and the Agent agreed that it is a truly unique property. Commissioner Dass wondered what the property would cost the Commission. commissioners Shaw and costa agreed that the cost of not acquiring the property would be far greater in teams of the environmental/development consequ aces. Land Stewards—Area coordinator Meeting The Agent explained that he will be having a meeting with the four Area coordinators in the near future; he is working on securing a date. The Agent stated that he wants to make sure they are all on the same page and that everyone understands who is contacted when. He informed the Commission that there are only a handful of parcels left unassigned and one is the Hamblin , Islands (which would require a boat to access). The Agent also explained that he will be sittitig, down with Torn Mayo again so that some of the larger parcels can be subdivided for the land . 1 i i -
