Page 2 .
BUSINESS CON' D:
the cafeteria on December 3, 1982 for a Youth Sports Banquet. He said
they would take care of security and cleaning up. Board approved.
The Board discussed the septage lagoons with Town Counsel as follows :
CHM. THOMAS: "You can enlighten us on a few things and we will tell you
what has been going on around here . The lady that filed a
suit against the Board of Health called here Monday with
her problems . I tried to contact the Board of Health"
TOWN COUNSEL: "She had a basement full, I understand. "
CHM. THOMAS: Yes , so we said we would try to find her some help. Charly
Lawrence came in walking through the door in the other office;
I said to him that this lady had a problem and is there any-
thing I can do to help them. He said you'd be better off if
t g P
you don' t get involved. He said he would take care of it.
So he took the note downstairs and what I surmise happened
is when his. Clerk came in at 10 : 00 a.m. , she tried to pick
up the ball and find someone to find someplace, to find some-
one to pump it someplace . Well, now after that, I heard that
there was s suit filed, and today Tim Hinnigan came up to
try and give us a progress report on what is going on at the
lagoons . In the course of conversation he said did you contact
Otis and see whether they will or will not take our septage?
I said I will call down there to the Board of Health. It
appears that they did not make any contact with Otis, so we
immediately called Col. MacNamara, and he being in conference ,
i
we talked to his Lt. Col . Merritt, who talked to Tim Hinnigan,
,
who said yes that they would help us out. So we have a relief
settled with the
here until we get se lagoons . "
TOWN COUNSEL: "Is that just for the person that has the problem or is that
for anybody that does?"
CHM- THOMAS: "No, okay , it is for anybody, we have some relief. In talking
with Tim Hinnigan it appears that if we are fortunate and we
have a concentrated effort down there we might have the lagoons
done by DecemberP
1st. Joseph, I am, really you know, why
isn' t all done?"
EXECUTIVE
SECRETARY: Perhaps Joe you could relate your conversation. "
TOWN COUNSEL: "Oh yes ; absolutely, it is rather interesting. I received a
telephone call, Monday afternoon,' from Attorney Frank Duffy
initially, approximately and a roximatel half an hour later, I received
a telephone call from Attorney Ed Farrell , they are both in
Duff and Farrell. Mr. Duff ' s
the same office. It is Farrelly Y
initial call was to find out who was the Chairman of the Board
of Health. I told him it was Mr. Charles Lawrence. He told me
that Mr. Lawrence was a client of their office, so they know
Mr. Lawrence quite .well . He would try to get a hold of him.
Subsequently, I received a call back from Mr. Farrell telling
me that they had not been able to get a hold of Mr. Lawrence
