TOWN OF MASHPEE , BOARD OF HEALTH ,, MEETING , AUGUST 19 , 1986
suppose whenever you tale a vehicle with high mileage you always
run the risk of a. high maintenance cost , an engine to blow or some-
thing like this ; net every department could or should budget enough
money for an engine replacement within the course of the year , s
weire thinking of some sort of motor peel , at least voter pool bud-
get and a regular preventative maintenance f some of these admini -
strative vehicles . So , ah , we do have some police cars coming up ,
as a ratter of fact they ' re available right now , we do have a couple
of them that are in relatively decent shape but in need of repairs
and one in not too decent shape . What I talked about briefly with
Nonie was , you have an asistant , you have the position of assistant
and we have an assistant net door in Inspections , I don ' t see u -
in -a position where we ' re going- tobe able to have an extra car here
and an extra car there , but , if we had one car that could be shared
somebody using it Monday , Wednesday and Friday in the mornings and
somebody using it Monday , Wednesday and Friday in the aftrn . ns ,
this- type of thing , I ' m sure that things ou l d be worked out that
would provide an extra vehicle for you . The other thing I ' r look-
ing
i -
in at i s , if we can set up some sort of a rotor pool list , then w
can- do some much needed repairs to keep the vehicle -that you have
in decent shape and that has many more miles on it . The onserva-
t-i on Officer car , we did spend some mone' y rune', on i , - a used police car
with many miles on it , but it sti 1 l has some good miles on th re
for adr-i n i strat i v purposes . You ' ve go-t an advantage , th-e car
you ' re using i s ' a smaller one . Hopefully , by Monday or Tuesday -I
wi l I learn if there is a source of money available to create a
motor pool .
The Board thanked ed the Executive secretary for his input .
