PAGE SIX
F
TOWN OF MASKPEEa BOARD OF HEALTH , MEETING , AUGUST 195 1986
i
Storrs . Right
FB : And the three buildings , the Church , Library and Whatnot
will all -be on independent septic systems .they will not tie in-
to the other , . . . . . other bit .
St rss : Unfortunately they can ' t be because of Title V says we
or don ' t allow is to take wastewater from any property owned by
ourselves , that ' s what we discussed once before .
FB : Yeh , I just wanted to check on it again .
Storrs : It absolutely makes no sense to have that law in effect ,
but DEQE is a little paranoid about having , I guess it came about
from havirig a developer st b l i h a wastewater treatment plant
and then run away technically and not provide enough . in 'id ntally
DEE is thinking about changing that .
CHL : Definitive plans , the only thing on the definitive plans is
show i.ng read drainage and things like that .
FB : Yeh , I think we p.,rtty much discussed that before that the
MDC type of drains the road drains ) and this bit . , .
Storrs : Yup , we went through it , the sort of detailed plans for
Jobs Fishing Road , we went through it once where it had all on
site drainage into catch basins and then leaching fields , Charlie
didn ' t want that , Charlie Rowley didn ' t want that . he had a couple
f concerns . The plan basi ll right now is this stretch of -the
road is collected into by virtue of catch basins and then piped
to this- point and thea it ' s run down an easement that runs along
the elderly housing and the church , there ' s a very largo depression
out in back here , that section of the road will drain into there ,
the riddle section of the road drains to this point and 'then goes
out into a sheep drain , which sort of hooks out , there ' s a very
steep bank that runs like th apt , . i t will run down there and if
any water , most of it is . designed to leach into the soil , if there
is any overflow from a high st r5t v nt , there ' s a drainage storm
water retention basin- that ' s designed to take some of tfie pa.ri n
lot drainage , so in a major event if there is ever~ an o crflow , it
would go into that basin . At the bottom of the road there is -till
two - sy t res of leaching pits because the elevations don ' t allow
it to. got around. to that point . What he ( r f r'ence Rowley ) was two-
fold ,
wo-
fold , 1 in a major stern event that they could fl ood the road and
secondarily , the leaching pits involve maintenance and they plug up
over time urn1 s they ' re maintained properly and that would be a
burden to the community , the community wi 1 i eventually own Jobs
Fishing Road and will be responsible for its ' maintenance so it
seemed 1 i k ' a better plan and that ' s the design ( interrupt )
CHL : That ' s what we talked about the last timewasn ' t it?
DFBMrrm pretty much it ' s just a question of finding out if there
has been any changes in the meantime .
Storrs : There really hasn ' t
