He stated he is .et. ualified,*to comment on <br /> the tonicity of this result and stated he forwarded a copy of the <br /> results to the E.P.A. and, i nforrned thea of the potential danger of <br /> the water for dr i-n i ng purposes. He stated the owners informed h i m <br /> that they had not been- drinking the water but had been purchasing <br /> bottled water instead, Mr._ MQu i d l stated the E.P.Q. suggested <br /> that another testing df th'e' -Water b rrd' before recommending <br /> an repair to- the situation. He- stated D . .But 1 r suggested that <br /> they try to totally flush out the draw area.' another suggestion is <br /> t dr i 1 l the well deeper, or relocate the well entirely. <br /> [fir. Costa questioned Mr. McQuaid as to whether; he has had contact <br /> with the occupants of the dwelling. <br /> Mr, McQuaid stated that the occupants were awaiting this report. <br /> Mr. Costa requested Mr. McQuaid keep in contact with this problem <br /> and report back to the Board. <br /> Mr. Creelish stated he forwarded the original report to his people <br /> and as' ed them to project- what this substance was against the solu- <br /> bility in water, etc and stated they had results of match' against <br /> unleaded gasoline. He stated they suggested a total flushi-,ng and <br /> stated they only forwarded a rough estimate on how much of thesub- <br /> stance (soluble component) had diffused and stated they reported a <br /> substantial portion of approximately 40 constituant large molecules. <br /> #r. Costa suggested the occupants pump for at least 48 hours before <br /> a sample i s taken. <br /> 21 . Copy, letter Dana Perkins to D.E.Q.E. re: Inspection of interim <br /> system indchime' Point - Mr. McQuaid explained to the Board that <br /> this came about when the engineering firm was placing a interim <br /> system at Windchi e Point discovered that the installer of the <br /> leaching trenches was off by eight inches. He stated it was DEQE`s <br /> opinion and mine that it would not significantly alter the func- <br /> tioning. <br /> 22. ) P rc extension request, J.D, Vinsen, 57 Leather Leaf Lane - Mr. <br /> McQuaid stated ab extension was previously granted to the previous <br /> owner which expires June 28, 1988 the new owner is requestin this--new <br /> extension. <br /> Mr. Gree l i s h motioned to .g.rant :the--extern s i n of six months from the <br /> expiration date of June 28, 1988 as requested, Mr, Wilson seconded, <br /> all agreed. <br />
