Scipione as to the possible <br /> remedies to the grease problems in the lagoons at the landfill area. <br /> Nor* Hanlon responded that various treatment plants off the cape have <br /> been contacted however they refuse to accept the grease due to the possible <br /> contents of sledge,- etc. . He explained that samples could be taken to deter- <br /> mine <br /> eter- <br /> mine its contents , at -which t i nye we could approach the treatment plants for <br /> possible acceptanc-e of the grease. <br /> Mr. McQuaid informed r'. s i p l one and Mr. Han f ors. that this Town <br /> re- <br /> quires the grease traps to be pumped once a year and commented presently <br /> there is no location in which the grease can' be disposed of. <br /> Mr. Sc i p i one informed the; Board that there are two solutions to this <br /> Problem;; oneA s to cart it off Cape, the other option is to treat it on <br /> site by installing a treatment system to treat only the grease <br /> r. - Hanlon. stated to treat the grease on-site would require a tarsi <br /> that could be discharged to, He e Plaine that' the grease could be treated <br /> biologically or it could be pre-treated to some other kind of process which , <br /> would involve another biological process. {fir Hanlon commented that another <br /> process would be to reach - ' point that It was more bre dow able b the <br /> bacteria, b adding head and enzymes- -to it and explained that- i f you could <br /> transfer} by achemical reaction, instead of a fat or liquid i t could be trans- <br /> ferred to a glucose which is biodegradable. <br />
