Y' MINUTES September 19, 1988 5 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Costa requested Mr. -Sc i p i one to provide the Board with cost figures <br /> for such a biological. process. <br /> Mr. Hanlon stated he will provide the Boasrd with the bid schedule for <br /> the lagoons at the next regularly s.ceudled meeting. <br /> Mr. Costa requested Weston & Sampson to include, in the bid figure, <br /> the stages in which the lagoons should be checked. <br /> Mr. Sc i p i one stated,, in regards to the septage, our company has con- <br /> considered <br /> on- <br /> considered turning the lagoons,, which are being re.ha b i l i fated, into a full <br /> scale pilot study,. He stated the recommended plan at this time is to <br /> build a s eptage treatment facility and then,cor plete a pilot study and ex- <br /> plained that a full scale pilot study would involve more-work on the lagoons, <br /> such as lining the lagoons, buying echan i a-1 'equ i pry !nt- which would turn it <br /> into a treatment,system.=. Mr,. 5o i pione stated .we ,could increase its capacity <br /> up to 6,000 or 7,000 gallons' a day, F r <br /> ■ <br /> Mr. Hanlon informed the Board that the idea behind the facility plant <br /> is to install a sequencingwbatch. reactor, which operates an activating sludge <br /> process i n -a different mode -between batches of sop 6 -'. He stated this pro- <br /> cess in loss in cost than surrounding town facilities. fir. He stated the plan is an <br /> approval not required plan. <br /> Mr, McQuaid informed Mr. Yarosh that the only concern .with this Board <br /> would be the number of employees allowed on a full-tire basis <br /> Mr,+ 'f aros h explained to the Board that as the project stands now there <br /> wi'l l be... 17 people employed at the premise which- meets requirements. <br /> Mr, Costa rctiond to approve revised plans as presented pending a <br /> purchase and sales agreement, [fir.
