F <br /> MINUTES February 8 , 1990 4 BOARD of HEALTH <br /> lJ <br /> Costa questioned the length of time the client re- <br /> mains In the program., <br /> Mr, Davies responded 40% remain longer than two years, <br /> f the remaining %, do not last longer than 90 days. <br /> i <br /> Mr. Costa questioned they typo of addiction associated <br /> with methadone treatment. <br /> Mr. Davies responded opium. Methadone only responds to <br /> heroine addiction. Mr. Davies stated in the future they pro- <br /> pose to expand treatment to include an outpatient cocaine <br /> detox. center. <br /> r* Costa questioned the probability of break-wins. <br /> . <br /> Mr. Davies responded they have never had a break-in. <br /> Mr. Doherty questioned the amount of people per day ex� <br /> pecten to receive treatment, <br /> Mr. Dairies responded, initially 50 per day and commented <br /> limits will be set between 100 and 150 per day. Ingestion i <br /> witnessed and the client is spoken to briefly prior to leav- <br /> ing. <br /> Mr, Costa voiced his concern with the location of the <br /> facility. fi <br /> Mr. Davies stated all waste is removed by a certified <br /> -carry <br /> i e r s <br /> AEPQINTMENT.; B. Fish, E, Virgilio and T. Fudal - Proposed <br /> Firing Range <br /> Detective Fish, Mr. Virgilio and Mr. Fudala were in at- <br /> tendance for this scheduled appointments <br /> Ir. Doherty stated no permanent structures are proposed <br /> at the site. In speaking with Weston & Sampson it was <br /> .earned that relocation for the drainage site would involve <br /> $10,500 increase over the original figures. As the capping <br /> grant and wastewater treatment plant are not imminent tempo <br /> rary permission should be authorized by this Board. Mr.. <br /> Doherty commented if funds should become available for either <br /> proposals the firing range would be abandoned. <br /> Mr. Greelish commented even in the likelihood that this <br /> area should become the entrance a point for the wastewater - <br />
