This testing was completed during January
1989 with the assistance of Weston and Sampson Engineers, Inc W .
Results were presented to the Board of Health members and
recommendations were made. See Report to the Town of Mashpee from
HE1 - January, 1989 one important recommendations was to
continue the periodic sampling of monitoring wells at the Mashpee
landfill and the Summerwood condominiums, to ncl de analysis for
selected inorganic and organic parameters.
The second round of sampling was conducted in January 1990 at the
and municipal landfill and at dwellings located in the Summerwood
and Ashers Path area. The results are included in this report.
Additional historic information regarding this area can be
obtained from 's Report to the Town of Mashpee, lea. on the
Detailed Hrdrrogeologic Investigation of the Area South and
Southwest of the Sanitary Land ill/ a to a Lagoon Area - Ho ems er,
1987.
4
SAMPLING PROTOCOL: -
-Static water level and total well depth were obtained
and total standing volume of water was calculated.
-At least three times the standing volume of water was
them pureed by hailing or by the use of a submersible
r hand pump (whenever possible) ..
Field readings of temperature, pH and specific
conductivity were obtained at intermittent times during
the purging process,, The well was considered adequately
purged only after stable readings were obtained thus
ensuring that the sample was representative o
formation water.
*-When the measured parameters were stabilized, all
required samples were bailed. Laboratory bottles for
ammonia were previously prepared with H2SO4 for
5
