Doherty requested the engineer to submit a list o <br /> variances required. <br /> Pyr, Greelish motioned to continue this variance request <br /> pending revised plans delineating contour lines beyond the <br /> lot line and variances requested must be submitted in writ- <br /> ing, Mr, Costa seconded,, all agreed. <br /> APPOINTMENT: Dr, Kerfoot, et al, - Ma ee River Study <br /> Dr. Kerfoot, Anthony Ferragamo, audy Mills, William <br /> Mills, Louis ehrm n, Paul Somerville, Thomas Fudala, <br /> Richard Halpern, and Duncan York were in attendance for this <br /> scheduled appointment, <br /> Mr, reeli'sh explained -at a meeting earlier this year <br /> Mills presented thisBoard Faith . at copy* of the craft re- <br /> port and at the same time raised a private' complaint on her <br /> part. ill . brought to the Boards attention the high <br /> coliforreadings in is to ° i they appendhi of. the study, <br /> Subsequently this Board had inspected .the property on a pe- <br /> is complaint, dye tabs were used and the culvert was in- <br /> spected. A system. of -investigations revealed nothingsub- <br /> stantial with which this Board could- act on, we attempted to <br /> . correlate. this hi h' eaidi q sakm le point a in i the ' study, but <br /> were unable to do so since the sample locations were not in- <br /> dicated. In order to follow up the Agent was directed to lo- <br /> cate the sample areas. This Board contacted the county to <br /> work out an arrangement for water analysis. Subsequently we <br /> received a letter form KVA indicating the samples were taken <br /> from a drainage a culvert on the Riverbend property ap- <br /> proximately- 2001 from the Rivers ecce and the vegetation be- <br /> tween the culvert and the river and the general lay of the <br /> land probably meant this was not a runoff consideration. We <br /> understood, from the nature of the drainage,, parking lot, <br /> buildings s and animals in the area where the readings could <br /> have cone from but were dismayed this sample was included, in <br /> a study reported to us at the time, as a river sample. Fur- <br /> ther investigation of the study gave the impression that <br /> there was less than studious data collection and assessment <br /> that samples were taken from opportune locations* It ap- <br /> pears, in an attempt to capitalize on this opportune sam- <br /> pling, that a valuable study may be discredited, Un ortu- <br /> nately this information was relayed to the newspapers, we <br /> had hoped to forward our feelings to the Planning Board and <br /> since the proposal was only in its draft stage, that another- <br />
