Director, <br /> expiration date is January 1 , 1990. Mr. Virgilio explained to the Board <br /> the permit will allow 150 'to 250 gallons of used oil and 20 gallons of ha -- <br /> ardous ,waste per month and does permit white goods r m v i . <br /> Mr. Costa discussed the issue of sludge burial . <br /> Mr. Murphy re ponded the problem has been reined i ed' and requested Mr. <br /> S i p i one to forward a - letter stating burial of the s'l ud&eat the landfill <br /> is permissible.. <br /> Mr. sipione recommended trash be mixed with the sludge in -that area. <br /> Mr. Costa discussed the ratter of state trash pick--up and Mr. Virgiliols <br /> reluctance -o permit the mate i a i , specifically tires, at the land-fill . Mr. <br /> Costa commented at a previous Board of Health meeting Mr. Virgilio was in <br /> attendance and relayed - o the Board he would like to begin accepting tires <br /> at the landfill hoever 'felt a structure would be required to house the <br /> tires. Mr. Costa relayed the Health Agent researched the tine requirements <br /> and found tarps were allowable as a- source of covering. Mr. Costa stated <br /> at that meeting Mr. Virgilio informed the Board once tarps have been pur- <br /> chased he would begin implementing the. tine program. <br /> Mr. Virgilio explained that an agreement had been reached between him- <br /> self and Mr. Costa that he would consult with the town accountant as to es- <br /> tablishing an account for monies received for tire disposal . <br /> Mr. Costa stated lie did not recall that part i cul .. on'versat i on. <br /> Mr. Greelish commented implementation of this program should begin <br /> immediately, the fee schedule and accounting procedure can be di-scussed <br /> at a later date. 1r. Gree l i s h stated -there is a problem as to where the <br /> hazardous waste will be stored. <br /> Litter town roads <br /> Mr. Costa stated this Board is favorable to trash pick-up along town <br /> owned roads, <br /> Mr. Gree ff i s h stated with the D.P.W. operat.in -the ' l hdf i l l i-t was ex- <br /> pected that-trash pick-up along town owned roads would be maintained at a <br /> higher level * <br /> Jr. Murphy stated the D.P.W. has not had an increase of full-time per- <br /> sonnel since before 1.980 and commented there has been. a considerable increase <br /> in work in that department. fir. Murphy commented the D.P.W. does have people <br /> picking up trash along the side roads. <br /> Mr. Greelish Commented this Board was`envisions-n *a dean up of white <br /> goods which would discourage further dumping and stated if�manp er was the <br /> problem and this Board was ntified of it than alternative steps soul have <br /> been taken to solve the problem, <br />
